LLM Artifacts Connected to Andrej Karpathy's LLM Knowledge base... idea, I've been building out a fun way to generate dynamic artifacts from these knowledge bases with the goal of discovering and revealing meaningful and deeper insights. LLM KBs are hard to consume for humans, as I think they are more built for agents. So the question is, what form would be useful for humans to take actions and make important decisions? That's what I am trying to figure out with these artifacts. The artifact example shows a pulse on HN discussions around AI-related stories. The insights can go deeper, of course, but this is already super fun and thought-provoking, like some of my favorite podcasts. The format and depth matter a lot. The aggregation skills of agents are outstanding if you tune the prompts and skill carefully. I built this artifact generator in a few minutes through an agent skill, but I feel like there are so many ways that LLM-generated information can be used and consumed. Like generating deeper insights and analysis, and things that are just not feasible for humans today. The generated artifact (including its data and design) serves as reusable templates or can be updated in real-time via auomations, which is something I am also working on. It is truly an insane way to monitor and track information. Better than a newsletter. Better than newspapers. There is something about this that gets me really excited about the future of AI agents for knowledge generation and discovery. Lots of hidden gems everywhere just waiting to be discovered and acted on if the information is presented correctly. This is not perfect. The format, style/prose can be improved, but this is easy to customize via skill. You can personalize it to your liking. I feel like these dynamic artifacts are going to emerge as a strong new medium to stay on the cutting edge of things, both for agents and humans. My target is research, of course. Happy Tuesday! So far we're quite happy with where... Mel and Warwick landed on the 6 cost side, so for TFT13.4 it's time to get Viktor there. Right now a zero item Viktor is providing far too much power and utility, while an itemized Viktor doesn't feel like its different enough or worth the investment. Even 2* Viktor is the worst of the 2* 6 costs. So let's change that! Viktor will no longer shred and sunder, and the % HP damage part of his spell is going down significantly. However in exchange, the damage is going up a decent amount. An itemless Viktor will do around the same amount of damage as before, but now giving him items will feel much better! This should get Viktor in line with the other 6 costs. And while we were at it, we had to fix what is probably the most annoying issue...the 50/50. Now if both players have a Viktor and neither is interrupted, instead of it being an awkward coin flip, they will now both properly cast and stun everything. Huzzah! Early afternoon Lake Geneva and surrounding areas got hit... with significant straight line wind gusts! Units from around all of Southeastern Wisconsin were called to the city with a MABAS 5th alarm for the extensive amount of damage in town. Being that it is the Fourth of July weekend there were a large amount of tourists outside and on the lake as the storm rolled in. Therefore extensive rescue boats and sonar teams were requested as well to help in the efforts of saving boats and other water vessels that were affected. Reports have come in of missing persons on the water as the search is ongoing. Apparently, I saw this video online and I decided... to share. What this worker is applying is called bitumen, or what many of us know as bituminous coating. Most people think a wall is a solid, impenetrable block, but in reality, it is more like a sponge. Concrete and blocks have microscopic pores that pull water from the earth through a process we call capillary action. This thick black substance is the shield that stops that water from climbing up into the house. It is not about making the wall look good because this part will be buried under the dirt forever. It is about creating a skin that water cannot breathe through. When do you need to do this? The need for this arises because the soil is a very aggressive environment. Water is not your only enemy.. The ground also contains salts and sulfates that want to eat away at the cement. If this moisture finds its way to the steel bars inside the columns, those bars will start to rust. And when steel rusts, it expands, and that expansion is what cracks the concrete from the inside out. This coating is the only thing standing between your foundation and that kind of slow destruction. Thats is why if you see wet patches at the bottom of your walls inside your house, it usually means someone skipped this step or did it poorly during construction. You can apply this anytime you are building parts of a structure that will stay in contact with the ground. It is common in areas where the water table is high or where the soil stays damp for most of the year. This is a one-shot opportunity. Once you backfill the soil, you can never go back to fix it without a lot of expense and a lot of digging. It is about having the foresight to protect the heart of the building while it is still exposed. Please don’t ignore this if you need to. 🇷🇺 Why wasn't the Omsk oil refinery better protected?... 😁🔽 “Ukrainian drones reached the Omsk refinery — the largest in the country, accounting for almost 10% of all oil refining. The refinery supplies all of Western Siberia and the Urals. It is reported that FP-1 drones struck a unit with a capacity of 8.4 million tons of oil per year out of the plant’s total capacity of 22 million tons. The Omsk refinery is such an obvious and attractive target that it was bound to be reached sooner or later. And it was. From the Ukrainian border to Omsk is more than 2,500 km. The FP-1 flies at a speed of 140–180 km/h — that is 14–17 hours of flight in a straight line, but the drone most likely had to bypass air defense zones, so it would have taken longer. That means it took off yesterday evening and arrived today during the day. And this is a slow propeller-driven device that could have been detected in advance, its target could have been predicted, and it could have been tracked all the way to Omsk. In that time, mobile groups could have been redeployed, local forces alerted, aviation scrambled. Twenty hours, after all. Why didn’t this happen? Once again, the answer, I think, should be sought not in technology but in the structure of the Russian vertical of power itself. Imagine officials at all levels, from the Kremlin to Omsk. To organize any kind of defense system, someone has to take the initiative: find resources, involve unusual, non-system people who might be able to solve such tasks, although it’s not certain. Coordinate it with a dozen agencies, agree on coordination without calls to Moscow, cover everything with paperwork so as not to later be prosecuted for misuse of funds. HTML Artifacts are a big part of how I... work with agents now. Artifacts can be more than just static files. When combined with agents, they can take action or help you take action. This unlocks all kinds of interesting ways to work with agents. This is clearly the future. Check out this writing and scheduler artifact I built in a few minutes. It uses a bit of HTML and JS. All the data is in markdown (Obsidian vaults), so the agent can access and modify it at any time. No DB needed. No sophisticated functionalities. The agent decides all that for me based on the skills, context, and memory it has access to. The best part about this simple stack is that all the important information stays with me. This has allowed me to build a recursive self-improving system and automations that can better tap into coding agents like Codex or Claude Code. I could have paid or built an entire app for scheduling posts, and there are so many of them out there. But I don't need to. I've realized a simple artifact does the job. And the simplicity of it is actually an advantage. Very little maintenance for very high returns on personalization, time, and efficiency. The other benefit of this is that I can add features as I please. That level of personalization feels magical, and we should all be pursuing more of it. All of this just keeps compounding. Of course, this example is just about writing. But I have similar artifacts for research, design, experimentation, evaluation, and so much more. And no, I didn't actually publish the post example I shared in the clip. It was just for demonstration purposes. I actually spend more time than this when writing together with agents. Lastly, having built my own agent orchestrator tool has made me realize that simplifying the tool stack is a superpower.
