COUNTDOWN TO "SHALOM HARVARD" Harvard student Ibrahim Bharmal forcibly... surrounded and accosted a Harvard Jewish student on campus. Although he was charged with assault and battery, to this day, Harvard has NEVER disciplined Ibrahim. Ibrahim kept his Harvard Law Review presidency, a position once held by Barack Obama. Of the dozens of other students caught on video harassing their Jewish classmate, NONE were expelled, suspended, or even placed on probation. Very nice to be back in Boston, my old... haunt as a graduate student and, two decades later, a professor on the faculty The Fletcher School Tufts University , to participate as a panelist Harvard Kennedy School Harvard CID ‘s #GEM26 on “Reimagining International Development”. The Charles River is as beautiful and calming as ever. The meeting is a two-day event of heavy hitters in global academia, Nobel Laureates, and senior policymakers. I’ll be breaking some tables on this vexed matter of the “international” development of poor countries in Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, and South Asia😀 No one in the rich, developed world owes anyone in under-developed countries “development”. I’m hearing from first-year students who, while studying for... exams in their dorm room, are being confronted with terrifying chants of globalize the Intifada - a call for the murder of Jews. I’m now receiving calls from their parents who are frightened to learn that Hamas supporters are being allowed to camp out in Harvard Yard - in brazen defiance to the university’s explicit guidelines - and are chanting in support of terrorism and call for the murder of Jews. The last two nights at the Harvard Chabad Seder table, along with Jews around the world, we read the words of the Passover Haggadah how “in each and every generation they rise up against us to destroy us. And the Holy One, blessed be He, rescues us from their hands.” That those who seek the destruction of the Jewish people are receiving support from Harvard students and other university students around the country - as we heard today from Hamas, should shake every moral person to their core. We call on University leadership to remove these Jew haters and Hamas lovers who are continuously and brazenly violating university code of conduct, not to mention their own humanity. - Rabbi Hirschy Zarchi, Jackie and Omri Dahan Harvard Chabad Jewish Chaplainshow more

"The conflation of anti zionism and Jew hatred cannot... be allowed to continue, no longer can people claim to be anti zionist and yet not jew haters" This is the opposite of what many scholars, activists, and critics of Israeli policies argue. That it’s possible to oppose Zionism or Israeli government policies without being antisemitic ➡️ Noam Chomsky: Jewish-American linguist and political thinker. He has criticized Israeli policies and Zionism in certain forms but is careful to distinguish these criticisms from hatred of Jews. He often stresses that opposing the political ideology of Zionism or specific Israeli policies is not inherently antisemitic ➡️ Norman Finkelstein: Jewish-American political scientist and author. He is a vocal critic of Israeli government policies and Zionism but strongly insists that criticizing Israel does not equal Jew-hatred ➡️ Tony Judt (deceased): British-Jewish historian. In his writings, he argued for critical discussion of Zionism and Israeli policy and opposed conflating anti-Zionism with antisemitism ➡️ Ilana Kaufman: Jewish scholar who has written on Jewish identity and political criticism, emphasizing that opposition to Zionism is a political stance, not automatically a moral judgment about Jews as a people These scholars make a nuanced distinction: criticizing Israel, its policies, or Zionism can be legitimate political discourse and is not necessarily antisemitic ➡️ Jewish Voice for Peace: U.S.-based organization. They explicitly state that being critical of Israel’s policies or opposing Zionism is not antisemitic, and they advocate for Palestinian rights while maintaining a Jewish identity ➡️ New Israel Fund: Supports human rights and democracy in Israel. They recognize that criticism of Israeli government policies is legitimate and should not be conflated with antisemitism ➡️ Independent Jewish Voices (Canada & UK): Argues that opposing Israeli policies or Zionism is a political stance, not inherently antisemitic, and that Jewish identity does not require support for all Israeli policies ➡️ Yesh Din / Rabbis for Human Rights: While focused on Israel/Palestine human rights, they allow for criticism of the state’s policies and oppose conflating anti-Zionism with Jew-hatred The terrorist Jihad al-Shamie has murdered innocent people and divided communities. This has got to be one of the most... disgusting things I have ever seen coming from Harvard. More than 30 Harvard University student organizations are holding Israel “entirely responsible” for the Hamas terrorist attacks in Israel: Joint Statement by Harvard Palestine Solidarity Groups on the Situation in Palestine "We, the undersigned student organizations, hold the Israeli regime entirely responsible for all unfolding violence. Today's events did not occur in a vacuum. For the last two decades, millions of Palestinians in Gaza have been forced to live in an open-air prison. Israeli officials promise to "open the gates of hell," and the massacres in Gaza have already commenced. Palestinians in Gaza have no shelters for refuge and nowhere to escape. In the coming days, Palestinians will be forced to bear the full brunt of Israel's violence. The apartheid regime is the only one to blame. Israeli violence has structured every aspect of Palestinian existence for 75 years. From systematized land seizures to routine airstrikes, arbitrary detentions to military checkpoints, and enforced family separations to targeted killings, Palestinians have been forced to live in a state of death, both slow and sudden. Today, the Palestinian ordeal enters into uncharted territory. The coming days will require a firm stand against colonial retaliation. We call on the Harvard community to take action to stop the ongoing annihilation of Palestinians." NO! Israel is NOT “entirely responsible” for the slaughter of innocent people at a music festival, and the kidnapping of 100+ civilians, including women and children. No, the videos like the one below of peaceful young people running for their lives as they are attacked and kidnapped is NOT Israel's fault.show more

Tragedy struck Islamic Senior High School at Abrepo in... Kumasi, Ashanti Region, when a Form Three student, identified only as Abass, fell to his d£ath from the top floor of the school’s administration block. The incident occurred in broad daylight during school hours, leaving students and staff deeply shocked as many rushed to the scene. Reports indicate that prior to the incident, Abass, a Business student who was serving as Boys’ Prefect, had allegedly been caught in an inappropriate situation with a female student by a teacher. The matter was reported to the school authorities, who subsequently summoned Abass’s mother for a disciplinary meeting to discuss the issue and determine appropriate consequences. According to persons close to the family, including his mother and uncle, as well as some students, Abass became deeply distressed after learning that his mother had been called to the school and even informed her of his intention to hàrm himself. Those who knew him revealed that he had been struggling emotionally for some time and had previously made statements about taking his own lïfe. Tragically, his family members and peers reportedly did not take these warnings seriously, assuming he was not serious. School authorities confirmed they had no prior knowledge or indication of his su!c!dal intentions. The bòdy of the deceased has since been laid to rest in accordance with Islamic tradition.show more
