HUAWEI HarmonyOS 6.1’s liquid glass effect is indeed the... closest implementation to iOS 26 among all current smartphone operating systems. It looks genuinely beautiful. This may be one of HarmonyOS’s advantages. At least in terms of visual rendering, dynamic blur, transparent materials, and layered depth, Huawei has clearly shown that it has the ability to create this kind of premium glass-like effect. I am not trying to argue whether it is right or wrong for Huawei to follow Apple’s design direction. My point is that the ability to actually achieve this effect is impressive in itself. By comparison, other Android-based OS skins have not yet shown the same level of execution. The Android camp still has work to do.show more

In 1997, to build the Qinling Tunnel, China paid Germany RMB 700 million for just 2 SECONDHAND TBMs. 700 million is an entire region’s tax revenue back then. But the 700 million didn't include support. China also had to hire German engineers for €800/day (≈RMB 6,800), while the average Chinese worker earned less than RMB 4,000 a year. Back then, the global market was locked by the US, Japan, and Germany. China was being robbed, simply because it couldn't produce its own. In 2002, China began the painful journey of self-development of TBM, which has over 30,000 precision parts. After 6 years, in 2008, China's first homegrown TBM was born. In a 2012 head-to-head test, it matched the best in the world. Today, Chinese TBMs lead the world. Dignity is earned. This is just an example in TBM. In humanoid robots, in electric cars, in solar farms, in drones...China has plenty of examples that make the country strong again.show more

WATCH: Upon arriving in Panama today, the first thing... I saw as I was leaving the airport was a giant sign that said “BANK OF CHINA”. Ever since the US officially turned over the Panama Canal to Panama in 2000, China has aggressively expanded its foothold in Panama. It has gotten to the point where China was able to pressure Panama to dissolve relations with Taiwan. At one point, Panama was one of the only nations to recognize Taiwan as an independent nation. They don’t anymore. When you see how Panama has become the largest land migration route to North America from central and South America, it’s evident that China and the CCP is an active facilitator of the invasion of America. One of the new trends in the Darien Gap over the last year has been the fact that tens of thousands of Chinese “migrants” have traveled to the US via the jungle of the Darien Gap. Chinese invaders are the largest growing new group of illegal Aliens traveling from Panama to the United States. Most of them are military aged men. By visualizing, what is normally sequenced audio patterns, we can derive much more insights. Here we see Paganini in a visual form that can than be described and transcribed into a World Model. We can observe connections in a manner that may not have been clear prior to the digitalization of music and sound in this way. The company with the most valuable potential in building a World Model is Tesla. Normally I wouldn’t be this interested in chip tech,... even considering this is impressive. Huawei has found a creative workaround to catch up with the likes of TSMC. But what makes it even more compelling to me is the bigger story and resilience behind it. Starting in 2019, Huawei faced intense sanctions that significantly restricted their access to advanced chip technology and global supply chains. For a while, it looked like this would seriously damage or even sideline them in major way. A lot of people thought the company was done or would be stuck far behind for years. Yet Huawei refused to die. Pushed hard by those challenges, they didn’t fold or give up. Instead, they dug in, poured everything into self-reliance, research, and fresh thinking. They reinvented how they approach problems and entered a whole new era of innovation and creativity that probably wouldn’t have happened this quickly, or maybe even at all, without being forced into that corner. That’s the part I find truly inspiring. When the pressure was at its heaviest, they turned obstacles into fuel. They focused on what they could control, built up their own capabilities, and came back stronger with real breakthroughs. It’s rare to see that kind of determination pay off in such a visible way. So many observers probably believed the sanctions would destroy them or at least slow them down permanently. Instead, they lit a fire under the whole company and sparked a level of ingenuity that feels genuinely exciting to watch unfold. Sanctions were supposed to end them. Instead, they pushed Huawei into this impressive new chapter of self-reliance and forward momentum. The announcement that China will be purchasing Boeing jets is a major win for American manufacturing, American jobs, and the U.S. economy. I recently visited China, and whether people want to admit it or not, the level of innovation and technological advancement there is impressive. We have to live in reality, and the reality is that China is a major global superpower. Pretending otherwise does not help America compete or lead. When I saw a Chinese robot change its own battery, I realized we have to catch up in some areas. That is why President Trump’s trip is important, not just for trade, but for America’s technological future and competitiveness. This is quite funny. We're visiting Kamakura in Japan... and we came across a large group of Chinese tourists in a place that, at first glance, looked nothing special. Turns out that this very spot is one of THE most iconic locations in Japan for Chinese people who grew up in the 1990s. Why? Because in the 1990s there was this Japanese basketball manga called "slam dunk" that every kid was watching in China, and the opening credits featured an image of this very spot: a railroad crossing on a small street leading to the beach in Kamakura. Apparently this place is so popular with Chinese tourists that they had to cordon it off at some point. Now it's obviously reopened with 3 guards assigned to handle the traffic. And now that they've heard about it, it's my daughters' turn to be hooked on the series so maybe in 20 years' time they'll be perpetuating the passion and come back to this "Slam Dunk" shrine ☺️show more

And he can feel it slowly, tears forming in his eyes, tears he is holding in the best he can. As he is holding that award, so firmly, that last name on his list, the one that felt like an awakening. He is the one he'd want to hold right there (or rather be held 🥺). The one who is more than a scene partner, more than a best friend, his "emotional support person in life", his "soulmate", his anchor even. Cracking a joke or two to try to release a bit of pressure, but when comes the point of saying his name "to the honorary Canadian Connor Storrie, I share this award with you." and not find his face, his eyes, his smile in front of him, the absence is screaming in his chest and the tears are closer than ever. Cause to be here, and for that to happen not side by side, like everything they've experienced for the past year or so, this doesn't feel quite right. "A single person is missing for you, and the whole world is empty" So yes he got through that speech without crying (barely), but not without beautifully opening his heart up to us before, and showing just how much he loves him 💓show more

There still is an active investigation as showing staff a bullet, or a pen that looks like a bullet, uttering a threat, and not responding to the RCMP for weeks, is still grounds for criminal charges. The main bronze door of Milan Cathedral weighs 37... tons and took a single sculptor 10 years to complete. The Duomo of Milan is one of the largest and most intricate cathedrals on earth, and its five bronze doors were built to be worthy of it. Every inch of the great central door is covered in sculpted bronze, dozens of scenes from the life of the Virgin Mary, faces caught mid-emotion, figures that seem to press forward out of the metal as if trying to step into the world... It was designed by the sculptor Ludovico Pogliaghi, who received the commission in the 1880s and did not see his door installed until 1906, having poured a decade of his life into modelling every figure by hand. And his was just the beginning. The five doors of the cathedral were not made together, or even in the same lifetime. They were created across nearly seventy years, by a succession of different sculptors, each carving their panels with the same obsessive care. The final door was not completed until 1965, its unveiling taken as the symbolic close of a cathedral that had been under construction, in one form or another, for 579 years... More than a century ago, the English polymath John Ruskin tried to put into words what it means to build something like this. He managed it in a single sentence. This weekend I had the opportunity to attend the... very first Prop Firm Expo by Prop Firm Match What an incredible event. Yes, it was crowded. Yes, it was hot. And yes, the lines were long. But if anything, that was a testament to just how popular prop trading has become in London, far beyond what many of us expected. It was amazing to see an online community come together in person. It was a great opportunity to learn, network, and pick up new ideas to improve their trading.
