Waymo struggles to detect the entrance's sudden steepness, carrying excessive speed and nearly bottoming out. The Tesla Robotaxi on the hand confidently detects the steep entrance and comfortably traverses it without jarring the passengers onboard. As someone prone to car sickness, I experienced no nausea during my 2.5+ hours riding in a Tesla Robotaxi yesterday, even while using my phone. However, within minutes of riding in a Waymo, I felt nauseous due to jerky braking, throttle, and steering inputs, as well as excessive speed when approaching corners followed by abrupt braking. An interesting issue with Tesla Robotaxi where it took... us to a Starbucks, but the Google data had the incorrect location. At drop off we were 0.2 miles from the Starbucks, so we had a short walk. Is there a way the Tesla AI team could add functionality in the app so riders can update map info to correct errors or inaccuracies on the underlying map data and then this propagates to the fleet? Being able to do this with a pin drop on the map instead of having to use an address might make this very easy and user friendly! Or, as a bigger ask, would it be possible for the car to be able to use visual images on its own to look for a Starbucks sign and on the fly, get us closer and update the map data on its own?show more

The Tesla Cybertruck makes it hard to see emergency... vehicles behind me. The digital rear view mirror does not get your attention like a real mirror does. In certain lighting conditions is nearly impossible to see the flashing lights. The cop had to turn on his siren to even get my attention. Tesla can easily solve this via a software update. They could use AI to identify emergency vehicles and make a chime to get the drivers attention.show more

That's a wrap! In the last 36 hours, I've... taken a total of 20 Tesla Robotaxi rides and traveled 92 miles. No interventions, no critical safety issues. All my rides were smooth and comfortable. Again… don’t be a dumbass and do stupid shit... like this fool just for clicks and attention. Josh West intentionally grabbed and pulled on the steering wheel of a Tesla Robotaxi during a ride to see what would happen. He did it multiple times from the backseat. The Robotaxi responded by braking, giving safety alerts, and contacting support. He also unbuckled his seatbelt while the vehicle was moving and, after the ride, put one of his own stickers on the Robotaxi. The Tesla team reviewed the trip, cited safety violations and property damage, and suspended his Robotaxi access. Then he turned around and made a video titled “I Got BANNED From The Tesla Robotaxi Network… So You Don’t Have To!” No… You didn’t do this “so we don’t have to.” Nobody needed you to grab the steering wheel of an unsupervised Robotaxi. Nobody needed you to intentionally trigger its safety systems. Nobody needed you to put your sticker on a vehicle that doesn’t belong to you. You did it for content. And this is exactly the kind of stupid shit that pisses me, many investors, and many hardworking employees on the Tesla team off. The Tesla team has spent YEARS working their asses off to make unsupervised Robotaxis a reality. Engineers have dedicated countless hours to building, testing, and improving this technology while Tesla fights through regulatory scrutiny and proves the system can safely scale. Then a fool gets access and intentionally fucks with the vehicle for a YouTube video. Think about how selfish that is. Millions of people are waiting for this technology to expand. Tesla employees have spent years of their lives working to get it this far. The last thing the program needs is some attention seeker intentionally creating safety incidents for clicks. If you’re lucky enough to get access to a Tesla Robotaxi, respect the fucking technology, respect the vehicle, and respect the people who spent years building it. Sit down and buckle up. Strait of Hormuz over the last 24 hours. Visible... AIS traffic is observed mainly in the Iran route. The Oman route has gone completely dark for inbound tankers. Based on inbound tankers, they all used Iran route. I will need to confirm later using satellite data how many tankers went in through the Oman route.
