I think we all underestimated Booster 21. I lined... up NSF’s splashdown footage with Booster 14’s catch from Flight 7. The attitude is almost exactly the same. That was a perfect splashdown. If Mechazilla had been there, I’d say it had a very good shot at getting caught. SpaceX hit the FTS and blew it up, probably because nobody wanted the recovery team dealing with another Ship 40 situation.show more

SpaceX is preparing to attempt its first-ever catch of... the Starship upper stage on Flight 14. The catch will only happen if post-flight data review from previous missions comes back favorable. Catching Ship at the launch tower is a far bigger challenge than a splashdown, since the vehicle has to survive the full return profile and land precisely back at the pad. A Ship catch also requires an orbital-class trajectory rather than a suborbital hop. That means Flight 14 would double as Starship’s first true orbital launch, combining two major milestones into a single mission. SpaceX has already proven tower catches with the Super Heavy booster, and extending that capability to the upper stage would mark a major step toward full reusability. It shows how quickly the company is moving from testing survivability to testing precision recovery.show more

China has become the second country in the world... with an orbital-class launcher system with first-stage booster recovery through controlled reentry and propelled landing. After delivering its payload to low Earth orbit, The Long March 10B had its booster landing on a recovery ship in the South China Sea with a net-and-hook system. SpaceX has more than a decades lead on the Chinese, with Starship being at a completely different position in this space race but the Chinese are clearly going to be putting a lot of effort into trying to catch up. It’s remarkable that the Europeans have been so slow to start experimenting with these technologies. ESA and ArianeGroup have been slow off their feet and both the Themis and Callisto programs are still very far from pulling off what the Chinese did today and miles and miles away from being able to do what SpaceX does.show more

Asked to reflect on navigating a “hellish” public breakup,... Perrie acknowledges that she receives criticism for answering questions about it, “[but] I’m like, ‘But it really affected me massively’”: “People are gonna hate me talking about it… I can’t catch a break. If I talk about this, they’re like: ‘Why are you talking about it?!’ But anyway, shut up! Yeah, [it’s my life]. When you go through heartbreak, it is hellish. You can’t eat, you can’t sleep, you feel horrendous. You don’t feel good enough and you feel like you’ve been left for something better, or whatever it is… Then what makes it even worse is, I feel like the world was then looking at me, laughing at me. I felt embarrassed; I felt horrified. I had serious breakdowns. I did. Because it wasn’t just the heartbreak I was dealing with. I was dealing with everybody looking at me, and I felt ridiculed. I just couldn’t cope with it; I hated it. I was breaking down in performances, which isn’t like me at all. I was crying constantly. I think I was depressed… I know that sounds ridiculous! But I think it was this plus this plus this, and everything on top. It was like, I had to be there for the girls; I had to be switched on; I had to power through for Little Mix – but I also just wanted to be left the fuck alone. But I also was getting followed every two seconds and asked about it 24/7, and it was the headlines, it was everywhere, and it was a lot! And this is the thing – when people are like, ‘Stop talking about it!’ I’m like, ‘But it really affected me massively’.”show more

After Party. This was the moment I truly realised... what we had done this night was special. We’ve created a premier promotion and it’s all WOMEN. Women’s wrestling truly is the underdog, that is constantly battling for equality and a voice. A sold out after party with fans that wanted to show their love to all the performers is exactly what I wanted when I took up the job.show more

Not a change, but I've had a TON of... folks asking if this is getting changed from June 10. This is a ball hit by Mookie Betts of the Los Angeles Dodgers and it was ruled an error on Jake Mangum of the Pittsburgh Pirates. The only thing I can think of is that Mookie didn't appeal, because this is a base hit, it's always been a base hit, and it will continue to be a base hit. Except on this one play. There is no way a sliding attempt like this is an error. I know Mangum broke the wrong way, but that doesn't factor it ... it's the catch, the physical catch, and there is ZERO CHANCE this is ordinary effort. I know we talk changes here, but this non-change is the most confounding one for me since Aaron Judge's first career walk-off hit, which was the most obvious fielder's choice of all time, but because it was the last play of the season, it didn't get appealed or changed.show more

I wanted to wait until the con is pretty... much over. I reported this to Twitch Staff mid block party immediately, but there were souvenir switchblades available for purchase (or literally grab and walk out with) at one of the shops in the Block Party Gaslamp area. It was a whole collection with different names engraved so anybody could reach and grab it at any height. It was towards the back corner of the shop so you had to walk in and really browse to notice it. The shop itself was also at the very back corner so there was barely anybody browsing it. However when my group all saw this at the same time - we all had the same concerned look without even saying a word. We noticed these the 1st hour of the Party so I immediately wanted to leave.show more

👤: Recently was there a moment when you truly... felt “I’m finally back with SEVENTEEN”? 👼: It wasn't anything particularly special, but we had a group schedule recently. My first schedule after returning was a solo activity, and today's shoot is also solo, but we had our first group shoot since my return the day before yesterday. When I reunited with the members in the waiting room while we were getting our hair and makeup done, it felt really strange yet at the same time it felt so natural. I thought, “Ahh I'm back in the place where everyone is again,” and “I'm doing this job again.” It was such a strange feeling to realize that everything was there just as naturally as before. It was a space I had originally been in all the time, but perhaps my mind still hadn't fully caught up with everything. So, when I saw the members sitting side by side getting their hair and makeup done just like we used to, it felt both fresh and familiar. That's when the realization suddenly hit me: “Ahh we're going to be doing activities together again.”show more

I was watching Ship 41 come in on Flight... 14. In the last part of the belly flop, just before the flip and burn, it was dropping at about 100 metres a second. That’s roughly 360 km/h, still falling sideways. If that had been a crewed ship and the engines failed to relight, a belly landing in the ocean would not be survivable. 100% a splat factor. The whole landing depends on those Raptors lighting on time and flipping the ship upright. Sure, it can lose one engine. If none of them light, there is no backup. Just watch the altitude meter drop. There will be a lot of landings coming up. A crewed Starship landing anytime soon? I think not. 🚀show more

Q: Was there a particularly memorable moment working with... the members on this album? Tyler Spry: There’s a video that’s gone around on the Internet when I was writing with V, James Essien and Sean Foreman. That video is not the making of any of the songs that made the album, but it was one of the most fun days I had in the studio with the guys. We were just jumping up and down, singing the songs. I think that it was one of the freest days we had in the studio, creatively. So I do hope that song gets to see the light of day.show more

I was planning a trip to Tokyo and had... a very specific flight in mind. Next Friday. Under $900. Window seat. That brought me here: So I texted Airtap Ai on iMessage: “Book me a flight to Tokyo next Friday, under $900, with a window seat.” It found an ANA flight for $874 with seat 32A. I confirmed, and Airtap completed the payment. But the part that really got me was what happened next. The boarding pass appeared directly in my Wallet. I tried it again with groceries, and Airtap found a 50% off coupon I could use at the store checkout. That’s what I like about it. The result doesn’t stay inside the chat. It shows up exactly where you need it in real life.show more

I continue to try to teach my grandkids that... you have to play under the wind. If you hit it high, you will cry. There was nobody better than Trevino when it was windy, he could hit a 4-iron from a 100 yards. A genius. This is the 14th at Maidstone. NEWS: SpaceX has released a statement after today's successful... 11th Starship test flight. "Every major objective of the flight test was achieved, providing valuable data as we prepare the next generation of Starship and Super Heavy. The flight test began with Super Heavy igniting all 33 Raptor engines and ascending over the Gulf. The successful first-stage ascent was followed by a hot-staging maneuver, with Starship’s upper stage igniting its six Raptor engines to continue its flight to space. Following stage separation, the Super Heavy booster completed its boostback burn to put it on a course to a pre-planned splashdown zone off the coast of Texas using 12 of the 13 planned engines. Under the same angle of attack tested on the previous flight, the booster descended until successfully igniting all 13 planned engines (including one that did not relight during the boostback burn) for the high-thrust portion of the landing burn. The booster successfully executed a unique landing burn planned for use on the next generation booster. Super Heavy hovered above the water before shutting down its engines and splashing down. After completing a full-duration ascent burn, Starship achieved its planned velocity and trajectory. During flight, Starship successfully deployed eight Starlink simulators and executed the third in-space relight of a Raptor engine, demonstrating a critical capability for future deorbit burns. Starship re-entered the Earth’s atmosphere and was able to gather extensive data on the performance of its heatshield as it was intentionally stressed to test the limits of the vehicle’s capabilities. In the final minutes of flight, Starship performed a dynamic banking maneuver to mimic the trajectory that future missions returning to Starbase will fly. Starship then guided itself using its four flaps to the pre-planned splashdown zone in the Indian Ocean, successfully executing a landing flip, landing burn, and soft splashdown. Focus now turns to the next generation of Starship and Super Heavy, with multiple vehicles currently in active build and preparing for tests. This next iteration will be used for the first Starship orbital flights, operational payload missions, propellant transfer, and more as we iterate to a fully and rapidly reusable vehicle with service to Earth orbit, the Moon, Mars, and beyond."show more

I was at a beach club in Bali with... a few friends. We were drinking, hanging out, and eventually they decided to head home. I wasn’t ready to leave, so I stayed. I ended up talking to a group of Australian girls. We were all getting along, and after a while they asked if I’d buy everyone a round of shots. I did. One round turned into several. By the end of it I’d had around 6-7 shots and was definitely drunk. Then one of the girls asked for my Instagram. She took my phone to add herself. It was already unlocked, so I handed it over without thinking twice. That was the biggest mistake of the night.show more

The crash of Jakob Söderqvist that definitively decided the... battle for the bronze medal. This is what bronze medallist Paul Seixas said after the race: “Söderqvist was very solid, he fell. It’s not something we appreciate even if it suits me. I have this slight bitterness at the thought that I finished 3rd because a guy fell and we don’t know what could have happened.” And this is what Jakob said: “I’m fully OK. It’s just some lost skin… and also a bit of lost ego, maybe. It’s just a bummer that there wasn’t much of a gap to a medal. You know that maybe this crash is what took it away. “But I knew I had to take every shot to have a chance to compete with the best guys, and so then I took a bit more risk than I usually do today. But I was happily surprised that I was up there contending with the best.” Captured by daniel.kogan #Montréal2026show more
