I have learnt to understand that golf is about minimizing your misses. On the tee, I aim up the right and I do everything to hit a draw. It gives me confidence knowing that I then have the entirety of the fairway to play with. If I hit a small draw, I end up on the right side of the fairway. If I hit a big draw, I end up on the left side of the fairway. If you aim up the middle, you double your room for error. One of the main differences of the game today compared to my prime is the equipment. That’s why it is so difficult to compare players of different eras, it’s a different game. Equipment advances have improved the game for every golfer, including myself as I would not have been able to play at the level i do today if the equipment had not advanced as it has and for that i am thankful. GP
