Massive performance improvement. This is a bit more of... technical post, but man do I love this stuff! Units navigate the map using a 'Navigation Mesh'. Before, I was using one giant nav mesh that spanned the entire map. The more objects that were placed (especially on a large map such as this 'RadarAttack' map designed by Syphotic | Steel Command), the larger the 'lag' would be after placement. You can see here that there is a massive frame drop and the navmesh doesnt update for almost 5 seconds. Now, there are a ton of tiny navmeshes that connect to one another, and together they cover the whole map. Now, when an object is placed, the navmesh will update instantly, because it no longer needs to parse through every object on the map (potentially thousands!!!). It only needs to parse through the objects that exist in the mini navmesh that the object was placed in (probably only 1-5 objects now!). Performance XP Boost +100! But far and away the best old fashioned I... had in NYC was in a tiny tucked away lounge at Grand Central Terminal. This is The Campbell Bar, the restored 1920’s office space of John W Campbell. It took me a few switchbacks to find the entrance but it was totally worth it. I don’t know how that window made it 100 years but it is stunning to behold in person. Blimey! This was a challenge to find. The Brewery... Tap pub in Brentford right now. It’s even in my book of Greatest pubs, but when I just came to find it I got totally confused and had to get Google maps out! The street is completely changed since I was here. We have over $250k in scheduled jobs just in... April alone A 5x increase over last April. Our biggest and most frustrating challenge by far is speed to scale. I could add another $250k with the click of a button, and I could press this button 30x over every 4 months. I could expand the service area and amplify it even more. But I can’t, because we can’t fulfill more than that without more equipment. I can’t just infinitely buy equipment either, it takes time to build up. The thought of taking on an investor has been discussed many times, but that’s another challenge, because it needs to be the right investor. Money alone isn’t the right investor. We need one that understands the industry and is well connected in it. We also have over 100 people ready to buy into a franchise model. A model that has already been built over the Winter. The possibilities are endless, but the decisions have become much more complex and more impactful.show more

Probably one of the coolest Interactive maps I have... seen. Shows all the original farms in Ontario from 1855-1869. If you zoom in you can even see who the original land owners are. So awesome. In 1871 there were 172,258 farms while in 2025 there are 48,346 farms. In the 19th Century in Ontario the standard farm size was 100 acres, versus 160 in the western prairies. In the earliest surveys (pre-1815), the grants were often 200 acres (measuring about 20 chains by 100 chains). The Division: The 200-acre lot was later often divided into two 100-acre parcels. This 100-acre size became the typical unit granted to settlers. The Grid System: These rectangular lots were grouped into Concessions (strips of land running the length of the township, facing the main road) and separated by Side Roads. This efficient, rectangular system was a key component of British colonial policy to promote orderly settlement and was influenced by systems used in the U.S. and Europe. The "Why": The 100-acre size was considered the minimum viable size for a family farm in the 19th century that was expected to clear the land, grow enough food for subsistence, and produce a surplus to sell (commercialization).
