Blender just became a prompt box. With Kimi K3... connected through Blender MCP, you can describe a scene like this in plain English and let the model handle the ugly part: terrain, buildings, lighting, materials, camera movement, animation, and the Python scripts holding everything together. The interesting part is not the first render. Kimi can inspect the result, notice that the camera clips through a tree or the city looks suspiciously like plastic, then edit the actual Blender scene and render it again instead of restarting from zero. You still need taste, because “make it cinematic” remains one of humanity’s least useful instructions. But the distance between an empty Blender file and a fully editable 3D world just got embarrassingly small. A few years ago, creating this meant weeks of modeling, scripting, lighting, and animation. Now you can describe the world, watch Kimi build it, and spend your time fixing the final 10% instead of manually constructing the first 90%. [ Grab from 3d model ] So the problem is we're at that stage in time (typical for AI) where image-to-3d models are not good enough but are fun to play with, but we know they'll be good enough in 1-2 years With [ Make 3d model ] you already can turn any Photo AI pic into a 3d model but it still looks hyper clunky and deformed, but it works! One cool idea I had to make that more useful and made now: Let people make a 3d model then change the view of the it with the 3d viewer, then press [ o ] and it grabs a frame of the 3d That image you can then [ Remix ] (img2img), and it becomes a real photo again and that in turn you can then turn into a video again with [ Make video ] So that essentially gives you a fully freeform camera position control to take photos with One thing I need to fix is the background/skybox, I kinda need to take the original photo and remove the person and just get the background for the 3d model viewer, in this case it should be white, but it's a start!show more

The thing I cared about was not UI. UI is now relatively easy for models to imitate. I cared more about UX: whether the model understands the interaction, the flow, the hierarchy, the little product decisions that make something feel usable. 𝙲𝚘𝚜𝚝𝚜: 𝙳𝚎𝚎𝚙𝚂𝚎𝚎𝚔 𝚟𝟺 𝙿𝚛𝚘: $𝟶.𝟶𝟶𝟶𝟾 𝙶𝙻𝙼 𝟻.𝟸: $𝟶.𝟶𝟺𝟾 𝙵𝚊𝚋𝚕𝚎 𝟻: $𝟶.𝟺𝟸 The surprising result was that Fable 5 did not produce a meaningfully better UX. It was good, but not good enough to justify the pricing delta for this kind of design task. Open-source models are getting very interesting here. They are much cheaper, competitive on UI, and increasingly good enough on UX. The gap is closing fast.show more

✨ I can now generate 3d assets for my... drone sim at directly from Cursor (sponsor of #vibejam) I need buildings that you'd see in a war torn city, like warehouses in ruins, broken down abandoned houses, bombed out bridges etc. Nano Banana Pro or 2 can generate them really well and then you can put them in an image-to-3d model and you get a GLB or FBX That one you can then import into your Three.js game, the models might be big though, in my case like 16MB, so I ask it to compress it and make it more low poly so it loads fast ThreeJS then loads the individual GLBs on page load and puts them in my drone sim somewhere randomly, I think I should remove some of the grass and match the sandy color of the ruins though to make it fit in moreshow more

If you typically stream with a 3D model, I... highly recommend that you pose your model when you’re not doing full body mocap instead of letting it stay in the stiff generic pose! I made my custom poses in “VRM Posing Desktop” (this is the BEST vrm posing app I’ve ever used in the past 3 years) and exported them as Unity anims then dropped them into Warudo’s animation folder! Our open-source RAG app, Verba, can now run Ollama... models locally to embed documents into Weaviate and generate answers without your data leaving your device! I tested it with Llama3, and it works great + super quickly on my M2; In this recording, I'm doing a little Verba-ception, asking Verba what Verba is 🤤 You can also use open-source models like Mistral, Claude, or your own custom LLMs. This will make doing RAG with sensitive data possible since you won't depend on APIs anymore. On open roads, it's going to speed like crazy, so it doesn't make sense to use there. And it's optional, so if you don't like it of course you never have to turn it on. Part of me gets it, but part of me wonders why Tesla would even bring this possible scrutiny on FSD when they already got a slap for rolling a stop sign, which like 99% of drivers do, and I feel is safer to do in many situations anyway.show more

Some folks are saying Deep Seek censors certain topics... (like Tiannamen Square) because it's a Chinese app. This is not true. Deep Seek is an open source LLM. You can download it, or host it outside China, and use it however you want. If you use its chat interface that's based in China, it will have to comply with the Chinese regulations.
