Hwa said that he heard a thunder sound, but the lights didn’t turn out. He’s listened to skin a lot, so he quickly realized this was real thunder. Update on my foot: Diligent physical therapy and a... lifelong healthy diet/exercise routine has my body healing better than doctors expected. I can pretty much walk normally at the moment! Only a tiny bit of pain every step. There are still unknowns about the future: Will I ever get to run again? How long before the arthritis shows up? WHEN will I need more procedures done, not if. This is a lifelong injury. I’ll never recover to a pre accident place, but I’m progressing very well for the moment. I want to be able to play with my future kids at the park, but whether I’ll be able to even jog when playing tag is still an unknown. Still a long journey ahead, but I’m committed to putting in the day to day work. Thanks for all the support ❤️show more

This house was built during the citrus boom of... the 1880s, when North Florida was full of hopeful growers planting groves across the region. But a devastating freeze struck that same decade, wiping out most of the crops and forcing many farmers to head farther south to start over near Orlando, where Florida’s citrus industry still thrives today. Evelyn update. So, the transplant team is a bit... confused by her results. She definitely has level 2 antibodie rejection, but the tests are a little contradictory. The technical jargon was a bit much to understand, but in the short term they're working on a plan. She'll probably have an Intravenous Immunoglobulin (IVIG) Infusion and Rituximab. We'll end up inpatient for a day or two for the treatment. I'm waiting on the team to tell us next steps. On a side note, getting her meds has been cluster foxtrot. It was a huge relief today when we got her refills.show more

The Xbox PC app still has a ton of... responsiveness issues. On Xbox Ally when it wakes from sleep / closes a game, sometimes takes several minutes to start becoming responsive again. On Xbox PC, sometimes when closing a game, it just decides that it's no longer going to detect inputs anymore. I'm not sure if there's something fundamentally flawed with the codebase or something but you never get these kinda issues on Steam. Steam is the bar Xbox PC needs to hit. I'm someone who does a ton of gaming on Xbox PC but it's impossible to recommend when Steam is literally sitting right there.show more

Of course, that fits nicely in 32-bit hardware. Only... a few instructions. Apple put it in CarbonLib, FreeBSD also used it, and for a few decades it was kind of everywhere. A few years later they discovered that 48271 was a little better. Specifically, a bit more even on spectral tests up to 6 dimensions. It’s kind of funny that so few listened. FreeBSD was still using 16807 in rand() all the way until 2021! So if you ever see that constant in disassembled code…well now you know :) (side note: most rand() implementations moved on to other LCGs, or mersenne twisters and such…but it’s arguable that 16807 is still quite ubiquitous!) Okay this is really cool. Codex app has a... new feature that is really useful. Highlight any text, and you'll notice a new popup. "More Details" uses GPT 5.5 Instant to explain in more detail about the highlighted portion of your text, allowing you to understand the reasoning/concept/statement/etc in greater detail. What's interesting about this versus a side chat is that it's instantaneous, and still retains context from the thread. With /side chat, you'd have to type out a prompt "what are the details on this?" With "more details" the prompt is implicit and the response is instantenous Very nice feature, as I'm always making side chats/branches to expand/learn/understand agent outputs better.show more
