An ode to the 7 Wood… I ignored the... hype for a long time. My male ego just didn’t let me give the 7 wood a try. With my hybrid struggling, I finally took the plunge a couple months ago. I can say with no hyperbole: It’s the best club ever. This is a tough stance and have to get the ball up fast. 195 yards out. Basically zero chance for me with an iron or hybrid. Just put it in the middle of that stance and swing. Boom. Rough, bunkers, fairway…just doesn’t matter. Somehow it always seems to go in the right direction. If you have fought the urge to ditch the 4 iron or hybrid, it’s time you try it. You won’t ever go back. 7 wood for lifeshow more

First, they sowed the grass seeds and now cover... them with soil. This keeps the seeds moist, protected from birds, and helps them germinate much better – often they wouldn’t sprout otherwise. The fruit basket is cheap and easy – most people already have one at home. If you want it faster and more even, use the compost roller. Either way, the grass seeds are happy!show more

Yes — it does work. And this exact trick... is how a lot of keyless cars are being stolen right now. Here’s what’s happening in those doorbell clips: thieves use a relay attack. One stands near your house with a signal booster to “listen” for your key fob. The other stands by your car with a receiver. Your car thinks the key is right next to it… unlocks… and starts. No broken glass. No alarms. Gone in 60 seconds. A Faraday pouch/box blocks the radio signal from your key fob so thieves can’t “relay” it. •No signal = no unlock •No signal = car stays put Police, car manufacturers, and security experts all recommend them because they’re cheap and very effective. Quick tips: • Keep keys in a Faraday pouch at home • Don’t leave keys near the front door • Test the pouch: put the key inside and try opening the car — it shouldn’t work It’s wild that a $15 pouch can stop a $100k car from being stolen… but it can. Anyone here using one already?show more

🚨 SCIENTISTS MAY HAVE JUST FOUND A WAY TO... CONTROL MAGNETISM USING ONLY LIGHT Researchers demonstrated “all-optical control” of antiferromagnetic materials — meaning magnetic states can now potentially be written and switched using ultrafast laser pulses instead of electric currents. Why this matters: Most modern computing systems rely on moving electrical charge. But future technologies may use “spin” instead of charge a field known as spintronics. Antiferromagnetic materials are especially exciting because they: • switch incredibly fast • consume less energy • generate almost no stray magnetic interference • could store massive amounts of data The problem? They’ve been notoriously difficult to control. Now scientists may have discovered a way to manipulate them using light itself. In simple terms: Future memory devices may one day write information at near-light speeds using ultrafast laser pulses instead of traditional electronics. This could eventually impact: • AI hardware • ultra-fast computing • next-generation memory • quantum technologies • energy-efficient data centers The future of computing may not just be electronic. It may become photonic and spin-based. Follow for more future physics and technology breakthroughs.show more

Right now, you may not have access to models... like GPT‑5.6 Sol, GPT‑4.6 Terra, GPT‑5.6 Luna, Claude Mythos 5, or Claude Fable 5. But you can run something surprisingly powerful today, locally, and completely free. in the next 10 mins on your 8 GB VRAM gaming laptop. Gemma 4 26B A4B QAT (MoE) delivers strong performance on a standard 8 GB VRAM GPU using Ollama, with no API, no usage limits, and no external dependencies. Out of the box, it reaches around 20 tokens per second without any optimizations. Only one command in your terminal: Ollama run gemma4:26b This means: Full offline capability (privacy by default) Zero recurring cost Competitive performance for many real world tasks Fast enough for interactive use on cheap consumer hardware If you're waiting for cutting edge cloud models, you're missing what is already practical today: a capable, local LLM that runs entirely on your own machine.show more

Some folks wanted to know how the pan is... faring for me. Here’s my first steak. The number eight will hold it, but you’re going to get a little bit of splatter, which any carnivore worth their salt knows a little collateral splatter is just the price of doing business. I tried this on my glass stove top, but I probably wouldn’t have if the stove weren’t already scratched up. I noticed the website said this payment would work on glass stove tops, and I wanted to give it a whirl. Just please try not to slide your pan if you do try this at home.show more

This is fucking dangerous. Apple spent 7 years and... $3,500 per unit developing the Vision Pro. This guy made something better with a simple webcam from his bedroom. And no, this isn't a render. It's running in real time on his laptop right now, with a webcam pointed straight at his hands. The camera tracks 21 points on each of your hands in real time: every fingertip, every knuckle, and every joint, all mapped onto a 3D skeleton at 60 frames per second. A piece of digital silk is linked to that skeleton. When you open your palm, the fabric drapes over your fingers. When you close your hand, it crumples into your fist. When you tilt your wrist, the fabric slides and folds using real physics, while light bounces off it like it's actual material. You can grab it, stretch it, toss it, and catch it, all using just your hands and without wearing any device. No headset. No gloves. No $3,500 computer strapped to your face. No 600-gram brick on your head. No battery that lasts 2 hours. No Apple ID. No App Store. Just a webcam, TouchDesigner, and a guy who watched the Vision Pro keynote and thought: "I can do that for free." Apple has 3,000 engineers, $200 billion in cash, and 7 years of development. They built a face computer that most people will probably never own. This guy had a laptop, a webcam, and a weekend. And he built a future that most people could actually use. That's what happens when you stop waiting for permission and just start building.show more
