It is coming from giant confinement dairies where they feed the cows the same slop every day so they pump out as much milk as possible. Then they mix it all, smash the cream so it never rises, and cook it so it can sit on a truck and a store shelf for weeks. That is why it tastes cooked and cheap instead of like actual milk. A cow only makes milk if she keeps having babies. So they take the calf away within hours. Then a lot of those babies get stuck in little plastic boxes by themselves for weeks. That is standard practice today. They told us factory farming would make food cheaper. It did not. The mega farms produce milk for less. Then the processors, packagers, and grocery chains take their cut, and you still pay more at the store. Farmers get squeezed. You get worse milk. The calves sit in boxes. Why I Eat Raw Meat I now exclusively eat... entirely uncooked meat. Steak, ground beef, raw fish, raw eggs and raw dairy to; I don’t cook it when I eat it. Why would I do this? Put simply, cooking/heating breaks down the food (just like when fires burn to ash, just on a smaller scale). This degrades nutrition, destroys water soluble vitamins, decreases absorption of nutrients, destroys enzymes and creates carcinogenic chemicals, making food harder to digest, and lower in available nutrition. For elite digestion, only eat raw meat. I can tell you that I have tested both cooked and uncooked meat now, and raw meat wins. Plus, it’s super convenient to have no cooking or cleanup! I need to eat less meat for the same hunger, I digest meals better, have less bloating, less water retention, heal and recover better from the gym and have more energy in general. When I eat, I feel like I can go for a run straight after. That’s how we should feel, not heavy and sluggish. Think about it, you’ve eaten a rare steak - you’re pretty much eating it raw, all it is is just not cooking the outside edges either. Think about the difference you feel between a rare steak versus eating a well done steak. The overcooked one is gross, heavy, tough and bad to eat. Heat destroys nutrients and the life force of energy in foods, so eating a raw diet rich in foods like raw meat, raw bone marrow and raw dairy are some of the most powerful ways to get the animal based nutrients your body needs to repair itself. Just as we teach our athletes to “leave things better than they found them”, we need to leave our athletes better than they were when they first entered into our program. Never let a day pass without pouring into each and every individual. 5. Life is complicated enough, let’s not complicate the game in such a way that we take the joy of it away from others. In other words… Keep it simple. 6. Our words carry little (or NO), value, if we don’t practice what we preach. WE as coaches should be learning and growing each and every day, just as we expect our athletes to. 7. As much as we all want to win those championship rings for our athletes, make sure you don’t lose your wedding ring in the process. 8. The athlete that may be “difficult to reach/teach” (the one who may get on your last nerve more than you could ever imagine), is someone’s EVERYTHING.
