I love the term #bombogenesis - coined in a... white paper in 1980. It sounds scary, but really it means “rapidly intensifying storm”. The reason it matters is, the faster a storm deepens (pressure drops) the stronger the wind gusts due to an imbalance in pressure - it forces air to move quickly.
