Today’s Episode on being a prayerful full-house husband who... takes care of the home. Yesterday, while my wife was trekking 15 miles home from work, she suddenly developed a running stomach. Before she knew it, she pooed on her gown. And because provision is her shield and I would starve if she doesn’t drop money for food, she left it for me to wash and I washed it. Maybe because it was already cold by the time she got home, I didn’t really enjoy the Jendol’s bread she bought yesterday. And I don’t want to call her to buy Bokku bread and Suya on her way back from work. Now, I have to rack my brains for what we have to eat for dinner, unlike my wife that’s simply just dealing with clients and pressures for deadlines. This thinking of what to cook, putting clothes in the washing machine, cleaning the house and actually taking care of the home remains the most difficult job on earth. I’m also beginning to feel dissatisfied with my provider wife, and even she provides for this home I don’t praise her for it because that’s the bare minimum. I don’t like that she’s not driven enough!!! Her mates are getting promoted at work every year but she’s remained in the same spot for 3 years. I’m sure my feelings are valid. It’s really not easy being the backbone of my successful wife. I pray for her, give her advice, take care of the home and make myself available to have a lot of sex with her. We full-time husbands who do the most difficult job on earth will someday get the praise we actually deserve for taking care of the home.show more

While the US finally had a break from tornadoes,... it was CANADA that surprised many when it dropped a wedge tornado near Shoal Lake, Manitoba yesterday evening. In this radar loop, you can see where this tornado's origins came from starting with the outflow boundary (the line of weak reflectivity values the storm pops out from to the east of the radar site). Outflow boundaries concentrate extreme low-level rotation and force rapid upward motion, such that when supercells interact with these boundaries, the pre-existing spin can be stretched into tornadoes. These can happen super fast, and it remains something we don't fully understand. In the span of 30 minutes, we went from there being no discernible storm to there being a wedge on the ground, without a mesocyclone or a nudger. What is even more amazing is that despite Canada's radars being lower-resolution compared to what we have in the US, you can still quite clearly see the hook echo and the eventual debris ball that forms on reflectivity. Luckily, no injuries or fatalities have been confirmed from this tornado at this time.show more

She was rescued in 2011 from Amboseli as a tiny two-year-old, around the same time we were raising new mum Melia – the two of them grew up together at our Nairobi Nursery, and both now roam wild in Tsavo. While Melia has just had her second wild-born calf, Kitirua hasn't yet started a family of her own. It seemed, today, she was roped in to be on bodyguard duty for the new baby! When two armed robbers entered a businessman’s bungalow in Begumpet on Thursday afternoon, the Taekwondo-trained woman and her daughter fought back despite being unarmed. When you see a tanker show up at the... base, and you know there’s an important delivery from Lockheed Martin coming up based on the news… For the last few days we’ve had the tabletop scanner sitting in our bedroom waiting for the call. Yesterday morning we finally heard what we’d been hoping for. RUMMY01 (KC-46) and RETRO61 flight of 3, the Polish F-35s, requesting clearance. We raced to our spot, and thankfully the overcast skies meant location on the field didn’t matter too much. Right as the F-35s departed, just before 8am local time, a light rain started moving in. I still need to edit the photos, but for now here are the takeoff videos. This will probably be the last time I get to see them for a while. Hopefully one day I’ll make it over to Poland for another air show.show more
