I recently read an interesting article by a journalist... and one of the founders of the Babel online outlet, Hlib Husiev, who spent three days with the group that created the "Horynych" drone. Main points: ◾️ The Horynych drone is a modified French Skyranger ultralight aircraft. Ukrainian engineers and light aircraft enthusiasts have turned it into a formidable weapon. They removed the pilot's seat from the Skyranger, added an auxiliary fuel tank, batteries, navigation and communications systems, and hardpoints for munitions. Horynych gained the ability to carry OFAB-100-120 fragmentation-high-explosive aerial bombs (about 40 kg of explosives) or the more powerful OFAB-250 (100 kg of explosives), as well as 120-mm mortar bombs. The drone's hit precision reaches one meter, and its flight range is up to one thousand kilometers. The uniqueness of Horynych lies in its ability to navigate through GPS-spoofed zones and evade Russian air defense systems such as the Pantsir-S1, Buk, and S-300. It can return and land autonomously. ◾️ For two years now, the group led by the commander with the callsign "Horynych" has been striking strategic targets in Russia. He does not disclose his real name for security reasons. In spring 2022, he volunteered for the front, served in the territorial defense, then in the Special Operations Forces, and later moved to the 14th UAS Regiment. The entire group is made up of light aircraft enthusiasts. The drone's missions are not disclosed. What can be seen, however, is their result: burning Russian strategic infrastructure. For "Horynych's" operations in 2023-2024, members of the regiment have already been awarded two Orders of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi. The "Horynych" operations themselves are complex, multi-stage missions. First, reconnaissance drones are launched to identify air defense positions and signals intelligence stations. Then come decoy drones that distract the attention of the air defense systems. Strike drones, such as the AN-196 Liutyi, attack EW systems, creating a 'corridor' for the Horynych. Only after that does the bomber drone set off for its target, covering hundreds of kilometers. The March 26 interview with France Télévisions is no exception. Let's break it down and point out where there are lies and where there is manipulation. 1. Lavrov claims that Russia is supposedly defending international law while speaking in the "language of principles" regarding Iran. What's wrong: it's basic role reversal. Moscow is trying to speak from the position of a "guardian of the law," even though it is waging an aggressive war against Ukraine. In the case of Iran, Lavrov is also deliberately omitting half the picture: yes, the US withdrew from the nuclear deal, but Iran also faced non-proliferation concerns raised by the IAEA. Why it matters: It is an attempt to whitewash Russia's crimes through someone else's crisis and to present the aggressor (Russia) as the judge. 2. Russia does not provide Iran with intelligence; the coordinates of US bases are "already known to everyone." What's wrong: it's an evasive statement, not a complete refutation. This is a too rude for TV gag that... was in my first special years ago but I was never happy with the recording of it. I slightly fluffed pronouncing the word ‘orchid’ and telegraphed the punchline. It still worked as its a good gag but it could’ve been better. So rerecorded last week in Norwich to set the record straight Orchid is the pivot word. It has to be pronounced in the listener’s story one time frame or it telegraphs the gag. That doesn’t matter if the pivot is also the reveal word ie at the end of the joke but it matters a lot when its in the middle. What Iran just did to Israel is nothing short... of an unprecedented humiliation. For the second time in the same day, Iranian missiles targeted Israel, destroying government and military buildings as well as secret installations. But it didn’t stop there. Iranian cyber units hacked into the settlers’ public surveillance cameras and were watching them live on screen while bombing them inside their homes. These Iranian strikes have become devastating and highly dangerous. Everything is in chaos, and no one can grasp how Iran has achieved such power and precision in its attacks. The Iron Dome is failing, unable to intercept most of the incoming missiles. So what happened exactly? Here’s a quick breakdown of how things got to this point. Just about two hours ago, Iran launched a new missile salvo that resulted in one of the most precise and dangerous strikes so far. The strike hit an area known as "Paris Square" in the occupied city of Haifa. This area includes the famous Sail Tower, the tallest building in the city, located near the rabbinical court and other important government complexes. What many people don’t know is that the tower is not just an administrative structure. It’s a central hub that manages the entire northern region of the Israeli entity. Inside are offices for the Ministries of Interior, Health, Education, and Justice, along with branches of the Tax Authority, Housing Ministry, and Civil Registry. It’s also only about 700 meters from the Haifa port. In other words, this building is the backbone of Israel’s northern administrative system. According to the (IRGC), the buildings targeted weren’t just government offices, they also housed concealed military command and control centers (C2 sites). Iran had been tracking this area and hit them with a direct, precise strike. So far, Israeli media has confirmed around 27 injuries from the attack, as the building was occupied at the time. The mayor of Haifa also confirmed that two strategic sites were hit, validating the significance of the target. And it doesn’t stop there. In this same wave of strikes, and in direct retaliation for Israel’s recent bombing of Iran’s national broadcasting center live on air, Iran hit the building of Israeli Channel 14, which it had previously threatened to target. According to news sources, the strike successfully hit its mark. Now here’s what surprised Israel's axis of evil. Iran’s strikes were never random. Yet, they are now focused on highly strategic targets such as command centers, government buildings, ports, and critical infrastructure. This new precision is the result of an intense cyber war raging between the two states. Since the start of the war, a massive cyber alliance has formed, bringing together hackers from Iran, Russia, China, North Korea, and Pakistan. They’re battling against Israel’s cyber warfare teams and their Western allies. Iran’s coalition has already caused severe disruptions to Israel’s electronic infrastructure. This Iranian cyber alliance is now penetrating highly sensitive systems, and there are (unconfirmed) reports that they may have infiltrated Zionist Israel’s air defense codes. Over the past week, following the directive of the... political echelon and the recommendation of the IDF, three out of four aid distribution centers in Gaza operated by the American GHF foundation have begun operating. The American organization has deployed hundreds of staff including distributors, ushers, truck drivers, and security personnel to deliver food packages to residents in the Rafah area (Tel al-Sultan and the Morag route) and south of the Netzarim corridor in central Gaza. Israel continues to refuse to comment on the funding of the American initiative, which is being led by the Prime Minister’s Office and his military secretary, Maj. Gen. Roman Gofman, while fully excluding the Defense Ministry and COGAT. In recent days, Israel has declined to disclose information on how the American company is being funded, how salaries are paid to its workers, and whether the food supplies might be funded by Israeli taxpayers. Israeli officials say the centers are designed to serve up to 1.2 million Gazans by distributing weekly food packages to families. The distribution is being carried out by American workers, as instructed by IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi, while Israeli soldiers secure the areas from a distance. The defense establishment plans to build four more distribution centers. According to Israel, the program is based on two key goals: first, cutting Hamxs off from humanitarian aid; and second, separating the population from Hamxs. The ultimate aim is to cripple Hamxs’ ability to govern and break its connection with the civilian population, making clear they no longer need it. Israeli officials say that for months, Hamxs has been running a cynical disinformation campaign against the plan, pushing a false narrative that the aid effort is part of an Israeli conspiracy to “displace” Gaza’s population. After the launch of the distribution centers under American security management, Hamxs took steps to intimidate the public, including threats and roadblocks to prevent people from reaching the sites. Despite this, security officials say residents are flocking to the centers in large numbers. In recent days, tens of thousands of people arrived at the distribution sites, where 35,000 food packages were handed out, each enough to support a family for five to seven days. Currently, the UN—expected to play a central role in humanitarian relief, especially in areas without distribution centers like northern Gaza—refuses to participate in the new aid program and has publicly opposed it. Israeli officials report that the UN has recently slowed or even halted its aid distribution in Gaza. To support UN efforts, joint meetings were held with IDF and COGAT representatives to coordinate logistics, improve traffic flow, and increase driver availability. Since aid truck deliveries resumed—prior to the activation of the new distribution sites as part of Operation “Gideon’s Chariots”—760 trucks have passed through the Kerem Shalom crossing. Of these, UN agencies have collected only 238. The majority of aid trucks have been looted, mainly by armed clans and local Gazans. Over 550 trucks are now waiting on the Palestinian side of the crossing, with the UN refraining from collecting or distributing the aid due to operational issues, looting, and what officials describe as low motivation following the launch of the new distribution system.
