Defending America through Operation Pacific Viper. The crew of... #USCG Cutter Forward, with an embarked Helicopter Interdiction Tactical Squadron (HITRON) team, interdicted a drug-smuggling self-propelled semi-submersible (SPSS) in the Eastern Pacific. Though the SPSS sank after its four crew were apprehended, this interdiction prevented an estimated 17,600 pounds of cocaine – more than 6 million potentially lethal doses – from reaching our shores. Every day, Coast Guard cutters are on patrol to... secure our borders, disrupt cartels, and interdict illegal drugs before they reach American shores. These operations culminated in a major milestone this week, as the Coast Guard surpassed 80,000 pounds of illicit drugs interdicted since January 21. This achievement comes as U.S. Northern Command (NORTHCOM) deploys two U.S. Navy warships to the southern border to support Department of Homeland Security and Coast Guard law enforcement operations. NEW: A s*xually frustrated dolphin is accused of s*xually... assaulting and injuring 45 people in Wasaka Bay, Japan. The bottlenose dolphin is accused of going on a multi-year rampage, s*xually assaulting beachgoers about 200 miles west of Tokyo. The dolphin will reportedly bite people and rub its genitals on them if they get close. "Dolphins, when they are mating, can be very wild," said marine researcher Putu Mustika. Researchers don't have definitive proof that all the attacks are from the same dolphin but agree that it's likely the same dolphin. "It is reasonable to assume that it is the same individual, as the wounds on the tail fin are similar to those of the dolphins seen off the coast last year," said a professor in Japan Tadamichi Morisaka.show more

The fourth edition of Ather Community Day is here!... The idea behind these community days actually goes back to 2016. Back then, we were a startup without a product. We started Community Meetups as a way to tell our stories and, just as importantly, learn from our owners. Those conversations shaped not just how we talked about Ather, but what we built. As Ather grew, those meetups grew with us. In 2023, they became the first Ather Community Day with around 700 people. Last year, nearly 5,000 people joined us. While the scale changed, the purpose luckily hasn't. Community Day has always been where we share the thinking behind our products. The engineering decisions. The design trade offs. The details our teams spend months, and often years, obsessing over. Some of those stories might seem small. In 2024, we spent five minutes on stage talking about a storage box 🤯. Last year, we explained how we reinvented cruise control. Most product launches don't dwell on these details. Most product launches are not aimed at the customer at all. We do, because we believe they're what make the experience feel effortless. This year is a particularly important one for us. We'll unveil the first scooter built on our all new EL platform. Our biggest product launch yet. EL is our first all new vehicle platform since the original 450. We built it with a simple objective. Bring the Ather experience to a much larger audience without compromising on what makes an Ather, an Ather. BREAKING: The man who saw 2008 coming just placed... his biggest bet against the AI boom, and the strangest name on his list is not a tech company at all. It is a bulldozer maker. Dr. Michael J. Burry shorted Nvidia, Applied Materials, Tesla, and the whole chip index this week. But the one he led with, the one he said jumped out at him, was Caterpillar, a 100-year-old maker of construction equipment. Why would the most famous bubble-caller alive make a heavy-machinery company his headline AI short? Because that is the whole tell. Caterpillar hit an all-time high this year, up 86 percent, its valuation richer than at any point in three decades. And look at the twist that makes the bet so sharp .. the re-rating is not pure fantasy. Caterpillar's order backlog is up 79 percent, because new chip factories and data centers need its generators, turbines, and earth-movers before a single server switches on. The market noticed, and repriced a machinery company as an AI stock. In Dr. Burry's words: “I have never shorted Caterpillar. It has always done great for me on the long side.” His trigger was South Korea. Burry named it directly: hundreds of billions in new chip-fab spending announced this week, the pledge that sent Caterpillar to its record. His verdict: “I see that as the beginning of the end.” Read and understand carefully what that means. Dr. Burry is not shorting artificial intelligence. Nope! He is shorting the moment the mania grew so vast it priced a maker of earth-movers like a designer of chips, betting that even real, booming orders have been valued as if they last forever. When the bubble reaches the machines that dig the holes the servers sit in, that is the line he chose to stand on. And the timing is also not quite subtle. He placed the bet at all-time highs, on the very day the chip index logged its greatest half-year run since the year 2000, the year he keeps naming. The visit to Denmark begins with an important step... for our defense. An agreement has been reached on Ukrainian-American cooperation in drone production, including interceptor drones — a crystal clear priority. We have signed an agreement with the robust American company Swift Beat, and it foresees hundreds of thousands of drones this year alone, with the potential to significantly scale up production in the coming year. Interceptors to destroy enemy drones and missiles, quadcopters for reconnaissance and fire adjustment, and long-range strike drones — all of these will be produced in much greater numbers to help us achieve our defense goals and protect the lives of Ukrainians.
