It’s been an outrageous weekend for Vanderbilt Baseball 2026... commit RJ Cope, a 6-foot-8 first baseman and lefty with top-of-scale raw juice from the left side at the plate. The big man is 10-for-16 with a homer, double, four walks to two Ks and three stolen bases. It’s a no-doubt power over hit profile but he’s done an outstanding job of waiting for his pitch and depositing it in gaps like in the video below when he put a defensive two-strike swing on a ball to cash in runs for his team in a critical spot. All of this and Cope is still new to hitting. His potential is off the charts with the bat.show more

This is the reason that coaches and parents go... bonkers sometimes. This play at home left people baffled. The runner is rounding third and headed for home. The throw to the catcher gets there way ahead of time of the runner. The catcher catches the ball, waits for the runner and applies the tag. Easy out right? 💯 The umpire calls obstruction on the catcher and said he was obstructing the runner from scoring. The runner is safe! 🤯 That may be one of the worst calls I’ve ever seen on any level. The ball arrived so early that the catcher could have sat on home plate and had lunch waiting for that runner. If you have the ball you can be right there waiting to tag the runner when he comes in. What do you think? Obstruction or not? Here, with Workman on second, Zach McKinstry hits a fly to left that lands, and Workman is thrown out 7-5 at third base. This was ruled a single, and the question has been asked as to why. First, this is the correct scoring, as this is a single. If this were a ground ball to short, and the runner is out 6-5 at third on a ball that would have otherwise been a hit, this would have been a fielder's choice, and the difference is in the wording on rule 9.05(b)(3), which says that you do not score a hit when a: (3) pitcher, the catcher or any infielder handles a batted ball and puts out a preceding runner who is attempting to advance one base or to return to his original base, or would have put out such runner with ordinary effort except for a fielding error. The Official Scorer shall charge the batter with a time at bat but no hit; The key is in the McKinstry play, the ball is handled by an outfielder, and not the pitcher, catcher, or any infielder. One... of the most amazing things about being a parent is that there are new and special moments at every stage of development (right into adolescence and adulthood). But what a special time it is when babies emerge into toddlerhood - developing motor and language skills all at once. Since v14, FSD has this weird obsession with moving... from the inner lane to the outer lane during a left turn. For me, it happens on every two-lane left turn. And it does it in a very jerky, dangerous way — even if it means cutting in front of another car, FSD will still insist on doing it. Is this because FSD is more afraid of hitting the curb at the corner than of getting rear-ended by someone else? This really feels like a serious bug to me. I’m not sure whether it’s because the model is overfitted to avoid curbs during turns, or because it was trained to always end up in the rightmost lane after a left turn. I honestly don’t know, but I really hope this gets fixed soon.show more

I know this may not be a big deal... to some but I noticed it immediately. The eye contact. One thing that was instilled in me at a young age was the importance of making eye contact when someone is speaking to you. It’s a simple habit, but it says a lot. It shows respect. It shows that you’re present and paying attention. That’s why it’s something I emphasize at every clinic I run. When I’m teaching, I expect athletes to look me in the eye. Not because I’m trying to be super strict, but because learning how to communicate, listen, and show respect will take them much further than anything I can teach them about fielding a ground ball or swinging a bat. While I don’t know Coach Murphy or Jocelyn Briski, the fact that this is something she naturally does tells me a lot about her character and the program that helps shape her. This time it was a woman who got into an argument with some other passengers an airplane. When she sees a man recording her, she immediately tells him that she’s famous on social media. It turns out that this woman is Morgan Osman, and she’s actually right. She has close to 1 million social media followers. She a Designer out of Miami and LA. A lot of times videos don’t tell the entire story. We don’t know all of the facts of what took place, and we also don’t know what this woman was going through mentally or emotionally. People on social media are so quick to jump to conclusions, and very reluctant to open their minds to the fact that we might be missing a perspective. What do you think?
