Claude Code's effort parameter is something you need to... keep in mind before starting any task It's not just about picking the right model anymore (Haiku, Sonnet, Opus). Now you also need to think about which effort level to use before each task. One tip I always go back to: when Opus can't solve a problem, just adding ultrathink makes things click, it's almost magic. We wrote a post at Hedgineer benchmarking each effort level by cost and time Read it here:show more

First of all Mary are you ok, because you... look like a corpse in you profile pic? Im worried for you. Second, why would Harry be invited to Charles's state visit events? More importantly why would Harry want to be there? Who in their right mind would want to be anywhere near Trump if they didn't have to be? 🤣🤣🤣 Third, the met Gala sucks now because Anna Wintour sold out to Bezos and his plastic wife. #ThoughtForTheDay Getting older is just a part of life,... but for a Dog, it's the ultimate test of loyalty. We don't mind the grey on our muzzles or the cloudy eyes, as long as your hand is still there to steady us. We don't need to run for miles anymore; we just need to know that you'll walk at our pace, however slow that may be. If you are lucky enough to have an old Dog waiting for you today, please be gentle. 🚨 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻'𝘀 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗱𝗼𝘄𝘀 - 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 Assassin's Creed Shadows... is the beginning of the third phase of the series. After more than 80 hours of playtime, I can say that it's superior to the second phase in almost every way. However, fans of the modern story and the mythological elements in previous games might be disappointed. They aren't making Digital ID mandatory. They're just making... real life impossible without it. The King's Speech has laid the trap, the Digital Access to Services Bill. The government will look you in the eye and swear it's voluntary. They'll tell you there's no criminal offense for saying no. But they are quietly building a world where NO means you are effectively deleted from society. It is a masterclass in vandalism by exclusion. They don't need to pass a law forcing you to carry a card when they can simply lock the doors to your own life. • You're FREE to refuse, but your bank account is behind a facial recognition wall. • You're FREE to opt-out, but you can't prove your right to work, travel, or see a doctor. It's the arrogance of a prison guard telling you the cell door isn't locked while they've already removed the stairs. It's not a choice, it's a digital ultimatum. And the hypocrisy? It's enough to make you sick. They want your face scanned and indexed to verify you can buy a loaf of bread, yet they'll defend the right to wear a niqab or face covering in public in the name of freedom. They can't even make their own surveillance state logically consistent without tripping over their own double standards. This is Tony Blair's twenty-year wet dream finally being gift-wrapped as modernisation. They are betting you won't notice the difference between legal to refuse and impossible to live. Stop the music. Reject the voluntary trap before the invisible cage is finished.show more

When You Have Nothing… and Still Choose to Give... My children shared the last bit of milk we had with our cat — not because we had enough, but because we have absolutely nothing. Hunger is now a daily guest in our home, and the painful silence fills their empty stomachs. Hunger taught them mercy, and despite the suffering, kindness still lives in their hearts. All I wish for is a bite of food to keep them standing, a little warmth to chase away this killing cold, and a glimpse of hope in their exhausted eyes. I can’t provide them with food. I watch them grow weaker day after day… Their pain is tearing me apart. And still — they think of others before themselves. Have you ever seen hunger teach generosity? Can you imagine fear giving birth to compassion? That’s how my children live… in the harshest conditions, with the purest hearts. This is not exaggeration. We are living through a real famine. The cold seeps into our bones, and fear never leaves us. Our nights are long, silent, and cruel. If my voice reaches you, please — don’t let it fade. Don’t scroll past our pain. Every second of delay means deeper hunger… and deeper fear. To every merciful soul out there — we are pleading with you. Help us survive. Please donate and give my children a chance at life:show more

Added context to my tiny diffusion model to enable... sequential generation of longer outputs! Currently the context is a quarter of the sequence length (seq_len=256, context_len=64). I have a theory that the less semantic-value-per-token, the worse the “curse of parallel decoding” is. With parallel decoding, we independently predict multiple tokens in one step. With the sentence “My poker hand was a ___ ___”, two valid predictions are “two pair” and “straight flush”. Because each token prediction is independent though, we can end up with a nonsensical output like “two flush”. This seems to be exacerbated with low semantic-value-per-token, as now you need more tokens to express the same concept. Instead of needing to independently predict two tokens, we might need to predict 10 instead (which is of course much harder). The model currently has noticeably worse output compared to nanogpt (similar size) and I believe this is a main reason. I’ll try adding confidence-aware parallel decoding (from NVIDIA’s Fast-dLLM paper) and other tricks and see how much they improve generation quality.show more

HiveMind is a superintelligent network in which a central... AI (MIND) orchestrates a swarm of uniquely coded Minds that drive mass data ingestion and limitless content creation. For decades, our approach has been to create content first, then analyze it into data afterwards to understand what worked. This was always backwards - analyzing the aftermath rather than engineering the success from the start. Traditional Flow: Content → Data Analysis → Insights Content isn't one-size-fits-all - a cooking show that captivates a senior audience on YouTube might bore a teenager who craves quick, dynamic experiences. The challenge isn't just creating content; it's creating the right content for the right audience. We need to change this. This is where HiveMind's specialized agents transform the landscape. Each agent, while connected to the central MIND, excels in its unique domain. One agent masters the art of children's educational content, while another crafts compelling cooking narratives. Another might specialize in rapid-fire social content that resonates with Gen Z. Through HiveMind, every piece of content generated becomes new data that teaches the system to create even better content. The system gets smarter with every cycle, understanding at an increasingly sophisticated level what makes content effective and engaging. But the true power lies in the feedback loop. Every interaction, every engagement, flows back to MIND, enabling each agent to evolve and refine its approach. This isn't just content creation - it's content evolution. As audiences engage, agents learn, adapt, and improve, making each new piece more effective than the last. In essence, we're not just building content creators; we're developing specialized digital artists who understand their audience intimately and grow smarter with every creation. You can think of it this way: Data → Pattern Recognition → Optimized Content → Engagement Data → Even Better Content Tzarshow more

This is one of the nicest things about China:... whatever happens to you, you can always count on people's solidarity. This is what just happened to us. We wanted to park our RV right next to Hulun lake for the night but stupidly managed to get it stuck in the sand. Impossible to drive out anymore 😓 Immediately, and I mean immediately, people around us started to pitch in to help. Luckily it so happened that a group of ex-PLA soldiers were having a get-together barbecue 100 meters away from us. They got told about our issue, stopped their barbecue and came to help. They told us "don't worry, no matter what we'll get you out, it's just a matter of time". Before we know it, one of the guys takes the wheel of the RV and the others start pushing. In 5 minutes, job done! RV unstuck and the guys get back to their barbecue. The Chinese are often depicted as cold and distant but my consistent experience is that they're one of the kindest people in the world, always ready to help a fellow human in need!show more

There’s been some confusion/comments about my use of the... phrase “pull the goalie” … so I’ll explain what it means, why I use it and why I think it’s the right starting point to use for defining urban Family Friendly housing Like from this clip from Marley and Me, it has simply meant a couple having sex, while being open to having kids. The word " trying" can feel really strange at first ... so it's just the shift from preventing a pregnancy to being willing for one to happen. And there’s a very big difference between getting pregnant and deciding to be willing to get pregnant. That difference is *key* when it comes both to designing housing and to making a City more family friendly. I know plenty of couples who have gotten pregnant immediately, like on the honeymoon. And for others it has taken years of ACTUAL trying (tracking cycles, having sex at specific times of day, hormones, IVF) ... and for some of our friends despite all efforts it just has not happened. Only God knows when or if a couple will have a baby. Babies truly are a miracle. (On a related note, Marley and Me is a beautiful movie in telling the story of wanting a family and losing a baby. My wife and I have lost children, so we know a *bit* of what the heartbreak of miscarriage is like) But the shift for a couple to become WILLING to have a baby is one of the core reasons people struggle to have kids in cities. If someone looks around their apartment and thinks, “There is no way we could raise a baby here,” then they’re less likely to stop using birth control. Your home has to feel like it could accommodate a baby. A "Baby Maybe" home: a second small bedroom or a tiny home office, that could have be a nursery in a pinch. It enables the small, almost subconscious, mental threshold where you say, “You know what … we’d be fine if this happened.” That’s the moment. And for each couple, there will be 1000 other things that go into the equation: Can we afford for 1 of us to stay home, or full-time childcare? Do we see other kids around us? Is it safe enough for kids? Are there parks nearby? Do we need to be closer to family and cousins? All will be different for each family, but they ALL require that their current home is sufficient to be able to have a kid Otherwise, as soon as a couple finds out they are pregnant ... they call their parents, friends and family and tell them the good news ... and then immediately look on Zillow to move right away so they aren't giving birth AND moving the same time. It's kind of a bummer in an otherwise wonderful magical moment. We've seen many many couples move out of the City at that exact period. "Well, since we are moving anyway, we might as well go to where we think we will live long term." But it doesn't need to be that. Babies are small. At least for the first year, if you have a place to put them you're probably better off just staying in your current place and then figuring things out later. Maybe you DO need to move to the suburbs or be closer to family or you want a house with a yard. But that decision doesn't need to be right away. TLDR: Family Friendly housing doesn’t begin at birth. It begins when a couple can imagine a child fitting into their current home ... whether that's a rowhome with tiny bedrooms or a 1BR+Den apartment.show more

Someone full clipped their entire $trencher bag last night,... causing a cascade of panic sells. If you wanted 600k mc entry to $trencher ahead of the Trencher NFT, here's your chance. (You need to hold $trencher or tape to be eligible for WL... NFT is very low supply so you'll need to hold a certain amount) You all should know by now, I'm not going anywhere. I'm one of the most active builders in crypto. In the past 9 months I've made 850+ pieces of original art and animations, registered the Trencher character as copyrighted IP, host weekly livestreams, received Pumpfun grant, received Base grant, went multichain, and have been featured by Pumpfun, Base, Candylabs, Opensea, Moonshot, Bitget, Ourbit, Raydium, Coingecko, and more. As for the future of Trencher, my plans include lots more animations, the "build your own Trencher" NFT, art toys, a video game, apparel, and more partnerships and brand deals. I'm not joking when I say I'm working 15 hours a day, 7 days a week to turn my character into one of the top IPs in crypto. Whether the price is down or up, I'm really proud of what I've been able to accomplish in 9 months as a solo artist! And I'm genuinely excited for what is to come! xoxo Grizzleshow more

I spent 6 months studying Polymarket. Yesterday I realized... I was playing chess against people who know my moves in advance. It all started with a simple question: why are some wallets consistently in profit and I'm not? I read the same news. Watched the same debates. Analyzed the same statistics. But they entered the market hours before the news became news. I found a cluster of 12 wallets. They share one thing: they buy when the price hasn't moved yet. And sell when the crowd is just starting to enter. One of them started with $288. Now the account has $666K. No loud trades. No screenshots all over Twitter. Just methodical work. Entry after entry. Week after week. I scrolled through his history and didn't find a single heroic trade. Not one bet that made half the profit. The capital curve is almost a straight line up. While everyone is looking for one trade that will change their life this wallet quietly collects bit by bit. And bit by bit turned into $666K. I started breaking down where they get their information. And realized: they don't predict. They're just closer to the source. Three levels of the food chain on Polymarket: First circle. People who know the journalist personally. Know the article comes out tomorrow morning. Position opened tonight. Second circle. People who see the first circle's activity. Notice that large wallets started moving. Enter right behind. Still before the news. Third circle. You. Read the headline on Twitter. Open Polymarket. Price already moved 40%. Think maybe it'll go higher. Buy at the peak. Guess who's selling you that position? The first two circles. Platform statistics: 84% of traders lose money. That money doesn't disappear. It flows to the remaining 16%. I spent six months trying to get into that 16% through analysis and research. Then I looked at my P&L. And realized the obvious: I will never be in the first circle. I don't have journalist friends. No sources in candidate teams. No insider info. But I can be in the second. You don't need to know what will happen. You need to see who already started moving. Their wallets are public. Their positions are visible to everyone. Their entries can be tracked in real time and copied automatically → Copy the winners: They spend years building connections. You spend seconds copying their trade. They risk reputation and money. You only risk time on setup. I deleted all my indicators. Closed all news tabs. Stopped watching debates. Now I only watch one thing: where the wallets that don't lose are moving. On this market there are two places: Either you're the liquidity being drained. Or you're the shadow of the one draining. Stop being the third circle.show more

What happens when art becomes a conversation with your... own consciousness? As part of Brand in the Open, we invited 10 artists to explore what it means to build a brand for the decentralized internet. One of them was LGHT, a visual storyteller who hides layered ideas in “simple beauty.” “My art is an extension of my curiosity and desire to articulate,” he said. “I like to hide these convos in simple beauty, always wondering if anyone on my wavelength can read the color-pages.” For LGHT, creating onchain is a core part of his work. “It’s the basis of my new career. I don’t come from polished resume world. I’m a drop out, reformed delinquent... Onchain changed all that. It’s given me and my family security. And it let me do it on the merit of my own mind and character.” What does he want to see more of from creatives? “Courage. You can’t wait for the okay or the sign off or the recognition. You’ve got to be courageous, over and over and over and over again.”show more

From International Space Station, we have a unique vantage... point to observe lightning storms from directly above them. Much like from the ground, they appear as rapid, intense flashes that are over as quickly as they started. But, with the help of handheld cameras and a bit of practice (and, admittedly, some luck), we can capture these intense flashes with a very high frame rate then slow them down to see how the lightning propagates. It's lightning, in slow motion. This is one that occurred over Indonesia on 6/28. I shot it for a half second at 1/120 frame rate, so, 60 separate frames. I then compiled those frames into two videos: the first, in real-time, and the second, slowed down so that each frame is a half second to highlight the progression of the flash. Note the incredible burst of light in one frame, which includes what is likely a TLE on the upper left. A TLE, or Transient Luminous Event, is an electrical discharge that happens in the upper atmosphere above lightning storms (if you haven’t seen Nichole “Vapor” Ayers TLE photo from last week, head over to her page). As their name implies, these are transient, or short lived, phenomena – it appeared in only one frame of the sequence, lasting for no more than 1/120th of a second. The last photo is that single frame. Absolutely incredible.show more

LHP Zach Root (Arkansas Baseball) is one of the... best college lefthanders in this year's Draft class. After splitting time between the bullpen and rotation as a Freshman, Root last year was a full time starter and pitched his way to a 3.56 ERA with 76 Ks to 21 BB across 68.1 IP. Slightly undersized at 6'1" and 186-pounds, but there's present strength and physicality in his lower-half. Natural funk and deception in his delivery that includes a high leg lift and some tilt in his upper-half. Average arm stroke with a slight wrist coil, attacks from a mid-three quarter (maybe a tick lower) slot with a bit of cross fire. Root's FB will sit in the 91-94 range, but it was up to 97. Will flash arm side life through the zone and is best when located on either third (arm or glove side) of the plate or in the top-half. Not a real bat-misser right now, so refining its shape should be a point of focus both this spring and beyond. Bread and butter offerings are his secondaries. Root's low-80s CH gets averaged almost 10 MPH of separation off his heater and it's a pitch he throws with conviction. Consistently flashes fade to the arm side as well as late diving life. Generated a 46% miss rate last spring, would stick a plus grade on it. High-70s-to-low-80s CB flashes big-time depth with some sharpness. 11-to-5 shape against RHH, but will be longer than it is deep against LHH. Has a decent feel for the pitch, and last season it held opposing hitters to a minuscule .048 average while generating a 48% miss rate. Rounds out his arsenal with a mid-to-upper-80s CUT/SL that against LHH will flash sweeping life with some late bite. Potentially average offering. Would like to see his strike-throwing improve this season. Day 1 profile this July. (📽️: ECU Baseball)show more

I've seen a lot of animatics lately that are... super detailed, essentially viewport previews of the final shot. But an animatic at it's core doesn't need to be anything fancy. Its main purpose is to plan and test the timing, camera angles, movement, and overall composition. With animatics you have to keep in mind the following: Pre-visualization: It allows to see a basic version of the animation or scene before committing to detailed work. Timing and pacing: An animatic helps identify how long each scene or shot should last, ensuring that the timing feels right. Planning: It helps with layout, camera angles, and transitions. By visualizing the shots, the team can ensure that the framing and overall design of the scenes work well in 3D space. Efficiency: It allows the team to test and fix any potential issues early on, like awkward movements or awkward pacing, before spending time on high-quality rendering or complex animation. In short, an animatic helps in conceptualizing the final animation by giving a low-res, rough version of the scenes, which guides the entire production process in terms of visual design, timing, and storytelling.show more
