This app uses AirDrop to send files from your... Android phone to your Macbook! Yes, it actually uses AirDrop. That means you don't have to install ANYTHING on your Mac to send files from your Android phone! Here's a video of a Galaxy Z Flip 5 AirDropping a file to a Macbook running macOS Ventura 13.5.1. (Thanks to u/FragmentedChicken for testing this app for me and sharing the video!) A few months ago, Twitter user @Linus13499209 brought an app called WarpShare to my attention. WarpShare is an app made by the developers of MoKee, an AOSP-based custom ROM that was popular in China. Since MoKee wasn't as popular outside of China, it seems the existence of their WarpShare app slipped under the radar. I was skeptical about whether it would work at all. Grishka, the developer of NearDrop, an open source port of Google's Nearby Share to macOS, told me that they were under the assumption that AirDrop requires the use of AWDL (Apple Wireless Direct Link, Apple's proprietary WiFi-based protocol) to communicate both ways. However, it seems that AWDL is only required for your Android phone to be discoverable by your Mac (ie. to send files from your Mac to your Android phone) but not the other way around. Because of this, though, WarpShare only supports sending files from Android to Mac but not vice versa. Your Mac also needs to have AirDrop discoverability set to "everyone" for this to work, as "contacts-only" requires Apple-signed certificates. Plus, it also doesn't support sending files from Android to iPhones or iPads, even when "everyone" mode is enabled. Still, if you find other Android --> Mac file sharing options to be lackluster, give WarpShare a try! The fact that it works at all is incredible, which is why I'm sharing this news here. In a nutshell it’s the understanding that things continue to exist even when they’re out of sight - and it typically develops somewhere between 6-9 months. Does that mean you cease to exist (to your baby) when you go to work or the grocery store? It can be kind of a scary thought to new parents. The answer, even before the development of object permanence, is no. But it may mean that (even for your toddler) you’re misattributing adult forms of memory to your little one. Infants and toddlers both live very much in the moment and are still developing the type of robust narrative memory we possess as adults. So while you’re gone, it’s not that you cease to exist. It’s more a case of “out of sight, out of mind.” Will they recognize you when you return? Will they be excited to see you? In a Biden / Trump Rematch I will Vote... for Biden again. With that said, one thing that unnerves me about politics in America is that neither side is willing to call out their own side. I will do that right now. I challenge Trump supporters to do the same: 1) Biden needs to present a clearer picture as to what he's doing about the immigrantion problem and point out the reasons why the problem has not been resolved. 2) I'm not hugely in support of paying off people's college debt. I'd rather see a program implemented, based on merit, that provides free college education to those who want it and who have hit certain academic achievements. 3) I'm not sure why Biden seems to push so hard against Tesla. I'm not a MultiversX $EGLD maximalist. And for that, I mean, not only looking at egold from an investment perspective (which is also true, with massive growth potential, in my opinion), but also (and much more) from an ecosystem perspective. The ecosystem is still small and super welcoming to active contributors. Starting to contribute now, or building something within the ecosystem now, offers a huge asymmetric reward for the long run if MultiversX grows as much as I think it could. This, of course, is also a sort of bet and has its risks, but the risk-reward ratio is positive from my assessment and this is precisely what I'm doing. Anyone building a reputation, a brand, a business, or simply a network around MvX, now, is positioning for the future. This is the most valuable asymmetry in my opinion.
