Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill was carted off the field... with what appears to be a serious knee injury in the Monday night game vs the Jets. Hill’s leg was put in an air cast as he left with the Miami medical and training staff on the cart. Some Giants fans on social media had mentioned Hill as a trade target they were interested in with the season ending injury to Malik Nabers, but Hill’s season could potentially be in jeopardy with this injury suffered.show more

Here’s a back angle of the same play. This... is a clean play IMO. I see some mild contact here, but no tackle “from behind” is performed which has been alluded to by some. Jakob is not a dirty player and has never proven to be. Kuithe plants with his left leg at the top of the route and you see a slight buckling inward of the left knee (valgus force which is typical in ACL tears.) This is normal contact with a TE/DB at the top of a route. Jakob disengages with his body after the initial contact. It appears to be a left knee injury. Possibly an ACL tear with some collateral damage based off the mechanism. Kuithe begins to hobble after the plant and eventually falls to the turf. Kuithe, in 2022 suffered an ACL injury and meniscus tear to his right knee. Data shows that once you’ve had an ACL Injury, there is a higher risk of injuring your opposite knee than your reconstructed knee. Furthermore, there is increasing data supporting the elevated risk of ACL injuries correlated to turf as well as style and type of cleats. My heart goes out to Kuithe.show more

The ref sent off 4... players from Sporting BJD and 2 from their management team during the game and when the ref blew his whistle to end the game one of the players who had been sent off ran from other side of pitch to attack the ref. Fair play to the players trying to prevent this happening and becoming worse. We hope the ref is being supported and is OK. (see sagittal image) – always check the images yourself Exam- Hip joint & lumbar spine clear Full squat sore especially with R leg bias Tender medial aspect of the knee, particularly in the region of the pes anserinus Fat pad compression test negative Mild awareness PFJ compression Knee flexion pain at end range but other meniscal tests negative Adductor loading / stretch tests (including adductor magnus bias) negative Prone knee bend neural tension test with saphenous nerve bias – minimally provocative DDs: · Patellofemoral pain – ‘common things are common’ · Pes anserine bursitis with associated infrapatella branch of saphenous nerve irritation? · Distal adductor magnus tendinopathy with associated saphenous nerve irritation? (AM forms floor of Hunter’s canal) POCUS in clinic – Great for tracing saphenous nerve & distal branches reliably; no nerve pathology seen or pain reproduction on systematic Tinel’s test using probe. Adductor magnus tendinopathy confirmed – but on further review of MRI, the inflamed adductor magnus tendon seems some distance from saphenous nerve (see axial image), so symptoms less convincing related to secondary nerve irritation However, pes anserine fluid noted vs contralateral side & correlates with her typical pain US guided local anaesthetic injection (video) significantly improves symptoms on comprehensive testing in gym & pilates studio P - Liz Bayley refined a Ballet specific rehabilitation plan now we have more diagnostic confidence - so cool watching her piece this together! Observe how symptoms respond over 6-8 weeks If no improvement, consider definitive injections to pes & / or PFJ – but need to exercise caution especially around tendons that are placed under huge athletic demandshow more

I will pray for Lindsey Vonn, obviously. No one... wants to see someone injured that badly. Praise God it wasn’t worse. At last update, she underwent surgery for a broken leg and is stable while expected to make a full recovery. But there is a lesson to be learned here. Pride and ego can be a dangerous thing. She entered the Olympics with a torn ACL. The ACL is the ligament that stabilizes your knee in regard to lateral movement - something which is pretty critical in downhill skiing. Her sport is dangerous enough without competing in it with such a serious injury. It wasn’t a sprain. It wasn’t “sore”. It was torn. It was a foolish decision. Her coaches should be ashamed for letting her compete in the first place. There is NO acceptable reason that she should have taken the hill. Not one. As for her, her pride went beyond the point of being admirable and right into being foolish. She already had an insanely storied career, what more was there to prove as a 41 year old with one rebuilt knee and a torn ACL in the other knee? “Thou shalt not tempt thy Lord, thy God” comes to mind.
