Recently Ross Gerber mentioned that it will be impossible... for Tesla to scale quickly with their Robotaxi plans because they have yet to build any infrastructure as similar to Waymo. I am willing to bet a generous amount of money that Tesla is well aware of Waymo’s infrastructure and their struggles to efficiently manage their fleet. Tesla does not have $15 billion of excess Capital to waste each year on a copycat Fleet management process. Nor would they spend it if they had an additional $100 billion in excess capital. After validating each geographical map area, Tesla will sell Robotaxis to individual buyers, it’s possible that there will be an up fitting process to enter your own Tesla into the Robotaxi fleet. Tesla will sell cybercabs to individuals and fleets that can come online anytime the owner decides. There is no alternative viable method to saturate the market. Tesla is not going to purchase 100 separate properties in Los Angeles and pay minimum wage workers to clean puke out of vehicles. It’s not going to happen. Critical Disengagement on FSD v14.3.7. Context: The car needed... to leave the parking garage and go to HEB. It started from the second floor, made its way to the top floor, and I believe it tried to find a path through this metal wire fence. If it had gone through that, it was a 6 story drop to the ground. In the dashcam clip, it is clearly visible. You can see the car is at 4 mph throughout the whole turn and is not slowing down. It wasn't trying to park because the route was set to leave the parking garage, not park in it. Either way, driving at 4 mph inches from the fencing is not okay. I have an interior GoPro recording of the whole situation. It actually tried to drive into the fencing again after I restarted FSD. In thread 👇 Obviously since I disengaged, we don't know what it truly would have done. Maybe it would have made contact and stopped. This was as far as I was going to take it as someone responsible for the vehicle, so I believe this disengagement was fair. Many in the Tesla community, have noticed that the autopilot's 'steering wheel movement' prompt has become increasingly difficult to dismiss with normal, gentle maneuvers. Just weeks ago I considered this to be a... map of Superchargers. The foundation that made EV’s a going concern for the first time. But it’s not. These dots represent fully permitted and built power stations in an era where every AI player is trying to figure out how to get power for compute. This is the largest electrical power moat I’ve ever seen that can fully supply current and future charging needs while collecting and storing cheaper power during off-peak to supply an AI revolution. Elon doesn’t care who knows anymore. 2nd place is… crumbs. AWS was built from excess server space needed during peak demand. Now it’s bigger and more valuable than the core Amazon retail business. Tesla is about to drop a hardware smackdown right in the face of software engineers. AI prototypes are easy. Scaling is hard. If only Tesla had a factory pouring out millions of chips each year that are underutilized 95% of the time. Each with their own battery storage. Imagine that. Tesla could call them ‘cars’. And that power moat? It’s all fully upgradable. It’s primed to be tripled. Only a handful of Tesla charging stations currently have solar and/or Megapacks. Today Tesla FSD unequivocally saved me and my fiancée... from a major collision or worse. Green arrow to turn left and FSD starts to go then suddenly stops, I'm thinking why did you stop I hit the accelerator pedal, it breaks again at the same time a SUV barrels through the intersection running a red light. From my view In the car I never saw the vehicle. Had I been in any other vehicle and pressed the accelerator I have no doubt I would have been T- boned in my driver side door.
