Some guys are able to leverage and rotate from that position extremely well, which then I would say that it’s not an issue.⠀⁠ -⠀⁠ On the other hand, there are some guys who will get out of this position by driving extension out of their back leg, killing their ability to rotate their pelvis and get it in an open position into landing.⠀⁠ -⠀⁠ This is when I would suggest trying to make a change. I think a lot of people jump into certain ideologies that you shouldn’t do certain things because it’s “inefficient” or it looks “wrong”. ⠀⁠ -⠀⁠ Take a look at these pitchers shown in the video. All 3 of these high level arms have some degree of knee flexion over their toe. The word “Nakba” is also cleverly wielded. A non-English word, it acts as a mysterious, yet symbolic placeholder for whatever trauma your mind can conjure. The ambiguity gives it power. The unfamiliarity of its language and culture gives it a sense of empathetic authenticity. You want it to be real, so you can demonstrate your empathy for its cause. Suicidal empathy. Kiev is raising the alarm: society is ready for... "lynch mob" justice. Ukrainian Human Rights Commissioner Dmytro Lubinets has suddenly become the leading public accuser of the mobilization machine in Ukraine. He states that society has reached a point of "lynch mob" justice, and military recruitment centers have become a legitimate target for public outrage. According to Lubinets, Ukrainians no longer believe in a "legal response" to the actions of the Territorial Recruitment Centers (TRCs), so they are starting to take justice into their own hands. In his assessment, only about 10% of mobilizations are carried out according to procedure, while in the remaining cases, there are direct violations of citizens' rights. People are being detained without protocols, without police, wearing balaclavas and without insignia. He openly admits that the breaking point is almost reached, and Ukrainian society is on the verge of a violent confrontation with the authorities, while the recent events in Lviv are just the first mass outburst. It is noteworthy that the Human Rights Commissioner cites specific examples. He talks about people with broken ribs who were held in TRCs, a mobilized man who died the next day, whose death was concealed from his family and attempts were made to bury him without an autopsy, and cases where people were simply murdered in recruitment centers. According to him, the premises of the TRCs have effectively been turned into places of detention, where men are brought in like detainees, being forcibly removed from their normal lives. "He literally went out to take out the trash and was found six days later at a training ground." Against this backdrop, today's attacks on TRC facilities in the Chernihiv region are a cruel military irony. For Ukrainian conscripts, this looks extremely cynical: those who broke their ribs during detention and dragged them to the recruitment center yesterday are now themselves under attack from drones. Russian "Geran" drones are objectively becoming allies of Ukrainian conscripts, because they are attacking the very structure that has turned mobilization into a hunt for people. His sister neglects him, and the way he talks about his relatives makes it obvious that his family life is filled with distance rather than care😔 It’s the first time Pete has ever talked about his past, not running from it but actually saying it out loud while someone quietly listens to him. Niran doesn’t interrupt Pete or try to comfort him. He looks composed the whole time, but I can feel his emotions through the silence, the sigh, the way he listens. He is simply lying there but it’s a safe space for Pete to unravel, which is why Pete later says that people feel at ease around Niran. It’s not cuz Niran is affectionate, it’s cuz he says things as they are and that helps Pete feel like he can be himself around him, even at his most broken moment. The scene before where he was furious with Pete, he’s not judging Pete’s life, he’s just giving him the hard truth. He doesn’t sugarcoat things, but he also doesn’t invalidate Pete’s pain. Instead, he’s trying to make Pete realize that his life has value, but he’s letting anger, recklessness and negative emotions get the best of him. Managed to get out of Dubai. The following is... my personal opinion & experience 🇦🇪 Everything went quite seamless. Careem cabs operate normally. The airport is extremely well organized, considering the circumstances. The world has changed since Saturday and unfortunately, the country I moved to 3 years ago has been under heavy attacks. Why? No one really knows. However, I find it extremely disturbing that most media - including our beloved CT - exploits that serious situation to take cheap shots at Dubai and people who moved here. There are real families and hard working people affected. Most are scared or feel extremely uncomfortable. It's a traumatizing experience to hear missile interceptions right above your house. Nothing I wish for any human to ever experience, no matter if you pay 0% or 50% taxes. I don't even know what the link between those two things should be?? If anything, it proves that the UAE cares about their people and is able to protect its residents. Even at 0% income tax. Dubai was not known for it's strong military. It was always portrayed to be bling-bling golden steaks and influencers. But the UAE has shown the entire world that it can defend 1,000+ drones and 200+ missiles from a direct neighbor. That is impressive, whether you love or hate the UAE. Many countries would likely not be able to absorb that. So, if anything: Dubai and the UAE have demonstrated that the system works. I have lived in multiple countries around the world and the UAE is by far the most capable of handling crisis. Why did I leave Dubai then? Because it's not a situation I want to be in. Missile interceptions and drone explosions are no joke. Besides the danger that debris could hit your roof, there's an incredible intensity in the air. Most describe it as "intense calmness". While the Government managed to keep everyone from panicking, it's impossible for everyone to stay fully calm. And you can feel that in the day to day. The first night I got virtually no sleep. The night of my departure neither. I haven't left my house at all after the attacks started. But I'm out now. I really hope that leaving the country wasn't necessary, and that I will be able to come back to Dubai as soon as possible. And no, I'm not paid to say this, nor did I sign anything. Maybe part of the truth why no one who lives in Dubai has bad things to say about it is because it's one of the rare places on earth where people actually trust the Government and respect them? Not only for creating wealth and understanding business, but for caring and communicating in a way most other countries are simply incapable of. Anyways, I guess the point of this post is to 1) Tell everyone in Dubai that it's possible to leave right now. I know many people are very scared and want to get out. Be persistent with the airline if they cancel your flight and push hard to get rebooked on the next available one. And maybe choose a destination that isn't Europe, considering most of these flights are overbooked already and impossible to get on. 2) Dubai's self defense is impressive and we should acknowledge that. At least this one time, let's not derail into irrelevant discussions but show respect to the leaders + express empathy for those affected. 3) As an expat living in Dubai, I can still feel proud of my home country and do not have to choose. This isn't a black and white situation. Dubai is a melting pot of cultures and great place for Business. Other countries have better nature, social life or other things. It's also up to individual preference. 4) If you hate Dubai, yalla you don't need to live here, visit nor speak about it. Enjoy the place you live in and focus on your own. No need to feel triggered and take cheap shots at hard working people and families that are currently under heavy missile attacks. One final thing that really became clear to me this week is that after all, safety, health and living in freedom are absolutely priceless. From the center of Buenos Aires, I warmly congratulate... all Argentines on the result of their democratic elections (although I am not a fan). The voter turnout here was really high (76%). Before you start reading the European media's bullshit about Milei being an ultra-right-wing fascist who wants to establish a dictatorship, study his electoral program (especially the economic one). To vote for his opposition (Massa) was to vote for a continuation of the dramatic economic decline and hyperinflation that Argentina has been facing for decades (Massa was directly responsible for this as Minister of Economy). Yes, many Argentines voted for Milei out of desperation because they had nothing left to lose - socialists like Massa have ruined their lives with hyperinflation and made Argentina the country with the worst economic decline in Latin America (worse than Venezuela's at the moment). European politicians, as forged socialists, supported Massa, of course, because it is inconceivable to them that Argentina could become a model of a minimal, lean, and better-functioning state - Milei plans to abolish most of the state, fire most civil servants, abolish most ministries, and abolish most taxes and stop inflation by dollarisation. When the European media tell you that Milei is a populist, know that populism in Argentina at the moment means abolishing all social packages, abolishing the dysfunctional public health service, and introducing market prices without state subsidies. Populism in Milei's case means that he wants to abolish all social benefits because Argentines have understood that state social benefits are the most expensive and have been paying for them for years through hyperinflation. The populism of Milei means that he wants to end relations with socialist countries like Venezuela or China (for which European politicians, who only prattle on about the rights of the Uighurs, have no balls). Yes, Milei is an emotionally unstable person and has many dark sides (he is in favor of banning abortion because he considers a person's life from the moment of conception, and he is against drugs because he thinks their legalization would burden the public health service, which he plans to abolish). Therefore, he has no clear support among libertarians. It is not at all certain that he will be able to get his radical agenda through. Many people think not. Unless he succeeds in dollarising Argentina and greatly curtailing collapsing socialism, the ideas of the minimal state may be transferred to other Latin American socialist states. The election of Milei is a demonstration that most people in Argentina understand that the state is not the solution, but the main problem. That socialism does not work and has failed completely in Argentina. It should also be a clear signal to the economically stagnant EU that continuing with tax increases, inflation, new regulations and other encroachments on the freedom of Europeans is a road to hell. Also today, Jim Chalmers was running victory laps at the National Press Club. He told us they’re doing a great job managing the economy and have big plans for our nation - as he bounced from slogan to slogan. At some point Labor must stop campaigning and start answering for the mess we are in. A mess the political class have made. The establishment in Australia are so poll driven, so focused on the next sound bite they don’t seem to understand that their plans are not working. Too many Australians are worse off today than they were a decade ago. Housing, groceries and the everyday basics slipping further and further out of reach. Crime increasing as the situation worsens… and yet, the National Press Club in their pant suits fawn over every word that falls from Chalmers. He tells us the Labor government is modernising our electricity grid. As electricity becomes unstable and expensive. How very modern. He suggests they are “seizing the opportunities from Net Zero with a future made in Australia”, as long-standing businesses that used to make things here – close down for good. It sounds to me like he should instead have a PhD in spin. Not that the Australian media has much interest in questioning him. They don’t call out the obvious sloganeering and the absolute dishonesty – the whitewashing of the real situation of the Australian not privileged enough to sit in the club. Worse still, our economic situation is corroding, and it is the government that pours on the acid. Instead of talking about real problems and real solutions, Jim delighted the establishment crowd juggling balls of distraction drenched in sophistry. IT would seem that the big end of town doesn’t really care about Australia; they have the money and mobility to go anywhere – they’re global citizens. Their companies can make things anywhere. This is the story the media seems to have... buried and forgotten. Back in March 2026, a late-night trip to a Waffle House in Richardson, Texas turned into absolute chaos when gunfire erupted after an argument between two groups escalated into violence. According to police, multiple people in both groups pulled out guns and started firing. Seth Jackson was not there looking for trouble. He had just gotten off work late and stopped at the Waffle House to grab food with friends. When he saw several people attacking one of his friends, he ran toward the altercation to help. He never even made it within 15 feet. Before he could reach them, Seth was struck by a bullet. The shooting left the young man catastrophically injured and fighting for his life. Investigators later announced three arrests (one was a minor) connected to the violence surrounding the incident, and officials have stated that additional arrests are expected. But the shooter who nearly killed Seth is STILL free. The charges don’t seem match the crime. Meanwhile, Seth has spent the last year fighting through hospitals, surgeries, and grueling rehabilitation. And here is the breaking update the media should be talking about right now: Seth is HOME. He is continuing rehabilitation. And Friday night, Seth Jackson graduated WITH HONORS. In a wheelchair. He rolled himself across that stage himself. This young man worked two jobs before the shooting. He had already been accepted to the University of Houston. He had his future ahead of him before a senseless act of violence changed everything in seconds. Yet despite all of it, despite the pain, despite the rehabilitation, despite the life-altering injuries, he crossed that graduation stage with honors. That should have been national news. There is no doubt that this man, Ibrahim Traoré,... is the most popular African leader at the moment. He is a soldier who took over power in Burkina Faso and became president. His popularity highlights two key issues; the lack of faith in electoral democracy on the continent and the tragic failure of elected governments to deliver basic services to their citizens. Many political science scholars I have spoken to argue that perhaps the time has come for Africa to reflect on the type of governance that works for it. Today’s democracy is inherently foreign to how Africa was governed before colonial rule. Colonial rule brought immense cruelty to the natives, robbing them of their cattle and looting their resources. When colonialism ended, democracy was imposed as a prerequisite for independence in many African countries. Sadly, this project has largely failed, with success stories limited to just a handful of nations. Was it ever realistic to implement a one-size-fits-all approach across all 54 African countries without considering their unique local circumstances? Should Africans think about what might work in the absence of the many senseless rigged elections? Is it possible to get all stake holders on one table and instead govern together? Many thinkers have argued that Africa's governance systems were diverse before colonialism and often centered around local customs, traditions, and values. The imposition of Western-style democracy at independence did not consider these indigenous systems, and this disconnect has contributed to the challenges many African countries have faced in consolidating their democracies. Young Africans are looking at the style of governance in the Sahel region, particularly in Burkina Faso, where Ibrahim Traoré has revolutionised the country, implementing many changes that have greatly appealed to young Africans. The Odyssey maximizer. Of the people who claim to... have read the Odyssey, I would say at best 15% of them have. And of that 15%, maybe 10% genuinely had the knowledge, familiarity with the time, people, place, technology, wars, cultures and conflicts to have anything of interest extracted and result in knowledge of the material. It’s like they “died with the odyssey” rather than “from the odyssey” Most normal people don’t want to spend a lifetime in the rabbit holes of “why did xyz use this word and not that word” “why did he say this and not that” and so on and so on, forever. How many copies of the book sold last year, maybe at best, I’d guess worldwide - maybe around 200,000 and that’s across all countries, languages, translations and they all seem to those convene on X like it’s the bar on Cheers “Norm!” I have studied in depth Machiavelli, the sources Machiavelli refers to, the Borgia’s, The medicis, the history of Florence, his plays and not just Livy’s histories but the histories he used as source material, so I understand machiavelli’s intention of irony, I understand thr use of cruelty in the shocking death of de orco , I understand his use of numbers and so in and so in. I have read many many academic papers covering the most minute things in his works. I don’t discuss Machiavelli except in passing, I acknowledge “oh you read The Prince (a shorter book usually assigned in schools because it easily fits within the semester)” and then usually disengage. Should a movie be made of any of his works I would see it and if it gets a few people interested in learning more and going to the library that would be great. Likewise, for almost all people - the Machiavelli movie would be enough to have satiated their desire to know ‘who he is and what he wrote and why he wrote it’ I am not a snob. I read just enough Plato to say “I read Plato” and that’s it. Some people want to delve deep into his works. I didn’t - but by definition I have “read Plato” But Plato is easy to read because it’s bite size. The odyssey isn’t bite size. Remarkable that on this platform that exploits a super quick attention span, these same users who can’t make it though an axios article or a 4 tweet thread can flip a switch in their noodle and transform themselves into the Burgess Meredith character in The Twilight Zone. Two posts in one day calling for the end... of John Cleese. One says he has allied himself with the darkest forces in Britain and has become the caricature he once mocked. The other, from a Muslim outlet, argues plainly that he should be de-platformed by respectable institutions. De-platformed. Respectable institutions. Say those words slowly and try to hear how they would have landed in 1972. The man co-wrote a film so blasphemous the BBC would not touch it, that was banned outright in Norway and by councils across England, and that two bishops went on television to denounce while he sat there and let them. Life of Brian survived the actual Church of England. It is now being reviewed by a newsletter. And the accusation is that he has become the caricature he once mocked, which is a remarkable sentence to write about a man whose entire body of work was aimed at exactly this. The Ministry of Silly Walks was a joke about a government department funding nonsense with a straight face. Now we have men in offices deciding which comedians remain permissible, and doing it with no jokes at all. At least the Ministry had the decency to be funny. Let me be fair, because I am always fair, and because being fair is what makes the rest of this land. Criticism is not censorship. Both of those men have every right to say Cleese is wrong, tasteless, or past it. That is speech. Nobody owes an 86 year old comedian applause. But there is a hard line between you are wrong and you should not be permitted to speak, and one of those posts crossed it in the headline. The first is an argument. The second is an eviction notice. And notice what the eviction is actually for. He said things about a religion. Not about a person. A religion, which is a set of ideas, and ideas do not have rights. People do. In England you can still say anything you like about the Church of England, and Cleese made a career of it, and nobody drafted a newsletter about respectable institutions. Here is what is wrong with Britain, and I say it with real affection because I am going there next month. A country that gave the world Magna Carta, the common law, and the funniest people who have ever lived has developed the habit of asking whether a joke is allowed. The recent attempt by Nnamdi Kanu and his legal team to draw international sympathy through a letter addressed to U.S. President Donald Trump is another desperate move to blackmail Nigeria and distort the truth. This ploy, couched under the guise of alleged “Christian persecution,” is a calculated propaganda effort meant to shield Kanu from accountability for his well-documented crimes against the Nigerian state and its people. This latest push is a glaring reality that Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB are behind the noise of a "Christian Genocide" in Nigeria. This is an attempt to undermine the sovereignty of the Nigerian state and forment chaos of international dimension. It is crucial to remind the global community that Nnamdi Kanu is not a prisoner of conscience but a man who jumped bail after being granted temporary freedom by a competent Nigerian court. Instead of submitting himself to the judicial process, he fled the country and used his time in exile to inflame division, hatred, and violence against the Nigerian state. One should ask Nnamdi Kanu if the lives IPOB that he leads wasted in the South East do not matter, these were Christians. During his time abroad, Kanu made numerous broadcasts inciting his followers to attack and kill Nigerian government officials, security agents, and innocent citizens who disagreed with his extremist ideology. His messages were not calls for peaceful self-determination; they were open invitations to anarchy and bloodshed. In one particularly dangerous broadcast around October 20, 2020, during the EndSARS protests, Kanu explicitly ordered the destruction of Lagos State—a city that serves as Nigeria’s economic heartbeat and home to millions of citizens from all tribes and religions. In that same broadcast, he went further, ordering his followers to locate and kill Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who was then a private citizen and is now the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. These are not the actions of a freedom fighter—they are the acts of a man pursuing chaos under the false banner of liberation. It must also be emphasized that Kanu’s trial began under the administration of the late President Muhammadu Buhari and has continued lawfully under successive governments. His detention and trial are rooted in due process and constitutional procedure. He is undergoing a valid trial before competent Nigerian courts, yet he and his legal team have persistently refused to open their defence, choosing instead to manipulate international opinion and stall justice. It is instructive at this point the need for the Attorney General of Nigeria must as a matter of urgency report the legal team of Nnamdi Kanu to the Ethics Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association. It is on record that when the one of his lawyers was supposed to be preparing open their defence, he was seen protesting on October 20, 2025 for the release of his client an action that the legal profession frowns at. Let's ask a question, can an American lawyer conduct himself the way Mr. Ejimakor has been conducting himself? Even more telling is that Nnamdi Kanu himself, inside the courtroom, confessed to committing the crimes for which he is being tried, claiming in a video-recorded moment that the offences were committed in the United Kingdom. This alone exposes the hypocrisy in his current attempt to paint himself as a victim rather than the perpetrator he is. Furthermore, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB)—the organization Kanu leads—is a designated terrorist group under Nigerian law. IPOB has been responsible for the deaths of thousands of innocent citizens in the South-East region through brutal attacks on civilians, security operatives, and public infrastructure.
