While David Cronenberg was making "The Fly" (1986) and... had to shoot this scene where Jeff Goldblum had to climb the walls & crawl to the ceiling, he remembered that there was a similar scene in Ingmar Bergman's "Hour of the Wolf" (1968). So, he watched the movie again to see how the scene must have been filmed & was amazed when he realised how simple and effective it was.
