Within the first two minutes or so, she’s already... used the word “learns” three times, and four times in total over fifteen minutes, if you count them all. Just like when Harry and Meghan went on about the “harms” while collecting that absurdly paid-for award, which she trots out again here. Once, fine, could be a slip. Twice, that’s worrying. Three times? Are you even aware of what you’re saying, Meghan? What on earth is going on? She takes a perfectly normal verb and adds an s, turning it into a noun. It makes no sense. She has been doing this for a while and now Harry is copying it too. In plain English, “learn” is a verb. You do not slap an s on it and turn it into a noun, no matter how much self-help or corporate waffle you have swallowed. Saying “a lot of learns” is just wrong. The proper phrasing is “a lot of lessons” or “a lot of learning.” Their habit of adding s to abstract or non-count words like learns, leadings or learnings is nonsense. Using “harms” in this broad, vague way is just as bad. It turns an uncountable noun into a countable one with no reason at all and leaves everyone guessing what the “harms” actually are. It is a massive crisis that can be averted by understanding what AI and Robotics will bring about. Solutions are knowing how to use these tools and new industries that will rise. But this situation is also on ALL OF US. No “job” is safe from founder to entry level in most industries. You and I, by what we do, will be “replaced” ultimately. What to do? AI and Robotics are tools, the next decade is owned by those who know how to use them expertly, but this is also temporary. We have to understand that what we do for “work” will change giving ultimately a greater value to those that are: Creative Flexible Always learning Willing to be wrong Love being human Love being alive Know history Covet wisdom Knowing all tech has downsides Building strong family and friends Realize many institutions have failed The first four are required for you to be able to live through this period with your sanity intact. The rest will allow you to thrive. There are no true careers at this point anymore. There are advocation and vocations which will either earn you money or give life meaning. We will learn that we are not “what we do”, just like we knew for 99% of human existence. The Australian government does not deserve our trust, or... our respect. Today, Minister Penny Wong sat back in her chair grappling for words, desperately looking for the right lie to tell. It is worse than dishonest - it is an absolute lack of care. Penny Wong came to this country when she was 8 years old. She came to a country that afforded her the ability to become who she is, and she is now doing her part to destroy it. Back in the 70’s, when she came, Australia was a fair-minded place and a great place to be. Yet here she is... Here in Australia. Undermining our country and lying to our faces. Two posts in one day calling for the end... of John Cleese. One says he has allied himself with the darkest forces in Britain and has become the caricature he once mocked. The other, from a Muslim outlet, argues plainly that he should be de-platformed by respectable institutions. De-platformed. Respectable institutions. Say those words slowly and try to hear how they would have landed in 1972. The man co-wrote a film so blasphemous the BBC would not touch it, that was banned outright in Norway and by councils across England, and that two bishops went on television to denounce while he sat there and let them. Life of Brian survived the actual Church of England. It is now being reviewed by a newsletter. And the accusation is that he has become the caricature he once mocked, which is a remarkable sentence to write about a man whose entire body of work was aimed at exactly this. The Ministry of Silly Walks was a joke about a government department funding nonsense with a straight face. Now we have men in offices deciding which comedians remain permissible, and doing it with no jokes at all. At least the Ministry had the decency to be funny. Let me be fair, because I am always fair, and because being fair is what makes the rest of this land. Criticism is not censorship. Both of those men have every right to say Cleese is wrong, tasteless, or past it. That is speech. Nobody owes an 86 year old comedian applause. But there is a hard line between you are wrong and you should not be permitted to speak, and one of those posts crossed it in the headline. The first is an argument. The second is an eviction notice. And notice what the eviction is actually for. He said things about a religion. Not about a person. A religion, which is a set of ideas, and ideas do not have rights. People do. In England you can still say anything you like about the Church of England, and Cleese made a career of it, and nobody drafted a newsletter about respectable institutions. Here is what is wrong with Britain, and I say it with real affection because I am going there next month. You might have seen a lot of thai fans... saying that #PerthSanta spend a lot of time online because they always know the latest memes and it’s sooo true. Examples of what they’ve been using lately: - “You scared me, give me a hug” wasn’t actually created by Ta, this phrase has been going around on TikTok since early July but he couldn’t have timed it more perfectly 😂 You can find a lot of videos if you search ตกใจหมดมากอดหน่อย or similar - “WHATS” easy to miss this one but it went viral after a thai driver got into a car accident and tried to pretend to speak english only just to avoid getting into trouble. She spoke with such a thick accent that instead of saying “what” (the easiest word to pronounce) she said something that sounded like “whats” and people have been using it as a joke ever since. 2nd clip is PS saying it, 3rd clip is the original of the girl - “dtdraai” or “dress” people have been using these words instead of saying “oh I’m d€ad” and you’ll see it often in thai posts too. These are the same products since launch. Same packaging. She has not added anything new besides limited edition crap. •why does it feel like a low rent fashion reel? She wears no less than 8 outfits worth over $100,000, never MIND the jewelry. What is “as ever” about this? She picks up a few jars of as ever spread-BFD, it could be any brand. There’s nothing about this that makes you connect to the brand. •the acting is horrid. She looks so pretentious and awkward-she REALLY should have hired another person to be the face of the brand but we all know her ego would have never allowed that. I have to say, it is almost cynical to... watch how many people and accounts suddenly “discover” the courage to call out Binance, CZ, the Trump/ MAGA network and things that have been visible for a very long time. Yes, this tweet is uncomfortable, but I have been uncomfortable this whole time, long before most of them, and people are finally starting to wake up. And now that it gets attention, everyone joins in and acts like they just uncovered something new. You are about a year late. But fine. Better late than never. Now let actions follow words. Mute, unfollow and disengage from accounts that constantly push propaganda, hate, shilling and misinformation. Stop buying new worthless JPEGs memecoins or hypes. Be conscious of which projects, platforms and narratives you support with your attention. Pay attention to who is serious and who is just jumping on the bandwagon. What worries me is how quickly all of this will be forgotten the moment the next flashy pump token, the next Trump hype cycle or the next Binance narrative appears. Or the next “anti-scam” and anti KOL coin that calls itself a movement even though there is nothing behind it, nothing before it. I have seen this happen many times.
