Fire activity has increased exponentially on the north side of the #Widemouth2Fire. Based on a flyover, the fire is approximately 10,300 acres. The flareups that occurred earlier spotted over the north line and northeast line, closest to Turkey Track Lane and Cemetery Road. Fire is also pushing north to Highway 91. Everything south of 300 S is in GO evacuation status. The sheriff's office went door to door evacuating residents. Highway 133 is closed at the Kanosh city perimeter, except to residents. Highway 91 is closed to I-15. The fire has crossed Kanosh Canyon and established on the north side of the canyon. It's making a fast push northward, along the forest boundary. The IMT and sheriff are in discussions on further evacuations based on changing fire conditions. Fire behavior is extreme, with long distance spotting. This threat is real to the evacuated areas. We will have no weather reprieve, and the winds area predicted to continue from the south throughout the night. We will keep crews engaged with both aggressive fire suppression, as well as structure protection, throughout the night. More resources are on their way to assist, both ground and air support. Based on current fire behavior, the Millard County Sheriff's Office upgraded the evacuation levels: 🔴️Turkey Track Lane and Cemetery Road, and residents south of 300 S. are in "GO" status 🟡 The town of Kanosh north of 300 S. is in "SET" The spring feeding the city has been shut down. We're asking the residents to conserve water to avoid depleting the city tanks. Please follow all evacuation recommendations. Everyone except residents should avoid the Kanosh area to alleviate traffic, as residents evacuate and more fire traffic arrives to assist. We will continue to post updates on the emerging situation.

An incredible view of firing Ops on the Iron Fire in Utah. Crews continue to build containment and completed a burn the western flank yesterday, but fire weather and winds continue to be problematic. Fire managers and crews continue to asses direct and indirect options moving forward. Additional firing ops took place last night on the eastern flanks, working to tie it in just north of Highway 6. Extreme fire weather is expected in the coming days, and contingency plans are also being worked on in case it jumps the highway. The fire is now 37,170 acres and 17% contained. The Cottonwood Fire has been updated to 61,137 acres, and resources continue to work towards containment, and are busy constructing firelines. Fire weather this weekend will be an issue for a lot of fires this weekend. 📷 Jefe Lobo

The Governor of Arizona toured the Dragon Bravo Fire this weekend to asses the damage of the Grand Canyon Park’s North Rim infrastructure. There are now 848 personnel assigned to the fire which has grown to 12,645 acres. Crews continue to mitigate spot fires that crossed the Grand Canyon Highway and mitigate hazards around park structures that were destroyed. You can see in this video the extent of the damage to the Grand Canyon lodge, a National designated landmark. Heavy equipment and firefighters are also building contingency lines to add robust containment lines around the fire. Thanks to the subscriber who shared this view of Fire activity at night, and the aftermath of the Lodge.

The fire has spread throughout multiple buildings, including a barn with livestock cattle. Fire crews were initially overwhelmed by the massive fire, prompting a request for backup. Heavy flames and smoke can be seen for miles. It is believed that everyone is accounted for, and no injuries have been reported. However, multiple animals are presumed to have been killed in the fire. There is no determined cause of the fire at this time, and the investigation will begin once the fire is extinguished.

The fire is currently reported at 50 acres with a moderate rate of spread in medium fuels and located in steep terrain with difficult access. Firefighters are aggressively working from the air and ground to attack the fire. Multiple fixed wing aircraft and helicopters are assigned to the incident along with over 100 firefighters assigned to the incident. Evacuation warnings have been issued for areas east of Lake Piru to the Los Angeles County line. Residents are encouraged to follow for the latest updates on evacuations.

#UPDATE: CSFD Fire Investigators responded on Monday to the Marksheffel Rd. Fire and have determined that the cause of this fire was accidental likely due to dragging chains from a vehicle. As of Monday, March 11th at 1:30 pm the fire is at 640 acres with 90% containment. One CSFD brush truck will remain at the fire scene to patrol for hotspots. Fire crews are confident that the containment line will hold. Charlotte Fire Responds to Intentionally Set Early Morning Fire at The Plaza Early this morning, Charlotte Fire responded to a structure fire at the 6200 block of The Plaza. At 3:22 AM, a 911 call reported fire and smoke visible at the location. Charlotte Fire crews were dispatched immediately, with Engine 15 arriving on scene at 3:26 AM, confirming a working fire. Additional units arrived shortly after to assist in firefighting efforts. The fire was brought under control by 4:05 AM. Thankfully, there were no reported injuries to civilians or firefighters. Following a thorough investigation, Charlotte Fire investigators determined that the fire was intentionally set. This incident marks the third time this business has been targeted by fire in recent months. The estimated property and content loss is $1.4 million. Charlotte Fire urges anyone with information about this incident to contact Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600. Tips can be provided anonymously, and your assistance could be crucial in bringing those responsible to justice.
