186 yard, 7-iron with a smooth swing. I’ve worked hard studying technique and this is what I’ve found to be the most efficient swing. It is an inside takeaway, a slight OTT move, and pull in as you turn the corner - smooth power. I’ll be holding a free... show more

I need your take on the KAWASWING. His golf swing and methods are hugely popular on social media. Is this golf swing worth emulating? It looks amazing. Effortless. Smooth. Straight. Looks like it can be done by a normal human. Too good to be true?

“Men could learn a lot more by watching the women swing.” Well, here is Jeeno’s beautiful golf swing. I’ve watched it ten times. All I’ve learned is how bad my swing is and how inflexible I am. 😂

What’s happened over time is this: modern instruction has become very position-based, while the greats—like Jack Nicklaus—were built on motion, sequence, and intent. So when teachers look at Nicklaus today, they often see: •Inside takeaway → “too far inside” •Across the line → “out of position” •Over-the-top move → “wrong path” •Early extension → “loss of posture” But that’s judging a living motion by frozen positions. The fundamentals that power his swing are no longer understood. Nicklaus wasn’t built on perfect positions—he was built on sequence, timing, and motion. A powerful shift before the top. A natural re-route of the club as he turned the corner. A vertical release that kept the face stable under pressure. It wasn’t textbook. It was effective. The great players didn’t all look the same—but they were built on the same timeless principles. Those principles haven’t changed… they’ve just been forgotten. I’ll be breaking this down step by step in my free webinar on the Classic Golf Swing, March 30th at 8pm and March 31st at 6pm. There’s a link to register in the first comment!

Here is a drill to help you learn what it feels like to use the ground and start to sequence effectively. Notice how the club is setup in the video between my feet. Get to your back swing and jump favoring your lead foot left and laterally like I am. With that feeling step in and hit one. Not where you are pushing off from when you swing and try and get that into a feeling that makes sense to you. This is how power is created in the golf swing. This is also where physical limitations can show up.

9 second Ludvig pre shot routine 🙂 That's not what I want this post to be about though... What I want you to be aware of is... He is THINKING about his swing while playing on the golf course, in a tournament You can see him make a little takeaway rehearsal just before he hits. To me, It looks as if he is working on keeping the club head more in front of the hands as he takes the club away Either that or he's making sure the face is staying square during the takeaway. Maybe both I hear golfers say that they shouldn't have swing thoughts on the course. I disagree. You can absolutely play with a swing though. You just can't play with 7 of them Ludvig proving swing thoughts are fine when playing 🙂

There are a lot of misconceptions and wrong advice given on the right arm action in the swing. I explain and demonstrate exactly what should happen in my course, Golf Swing Fully Explained (along with the entire swing and how to drill from home).

One of the greatest keys to power and consistency in the golf swing is learning how to properly rotate through the ball. Initiating the downswing is one of the most important tools in consistent golf. It is something I have worked on virtually every day of my life, from hitting balls as a young boy in South Africa to competing against the best players in the world. GP #PXGTroops

Few know what this is. And it’s more important than the swing. Very few work on it. Learn this and it’s real hard to screw up the swing. 99.99% teach the wrong stuff. This is the magic.

Grip a club in your lead hand. Observe how twisting your forearm changes the angle of the face. This is largely what controls where your ball flies. Small differences in this angle lead to huge changes in shot direction. This precision is not being trained in the gym with “golf exercises”. Poor control of this face angle is what leads to a whole host of swing issues. More so than physical limitations. For example, it is far more likely you come over the top in an effort to stop the ball going right because your face is wide open and you’ve seen the ball go right the last 5000 times than it is you lack hip or shoulder mobility. It would be beneficial for me as a trainer to say otherwise, but I just don’t believe it to be true. Use the gym to work on your physical capabilities. Improve your mobility, strength, and power. These are the things you are losing as you age. Leave the swing mechanics for your practice and golf lessons. If you try to “fix your swing in the gym” you will likely do a poor job of training your swing and your body.

The difference between arm swing and body swing lies precisely in the position of the abdomen.✅ If the arms pass through while the stomach is facing forward at impact, it is an arm swing.🎯 If the arms follow behind while the stomach is facing the target, it is a body swing.⛳

My 72-year-old student Bob can still rip it 300 yards. Not because he swings harder—but because he finally learned to stop fighting the forces in the golf swing and let them work for him. A sound, traditional setup is worth its weight in gold, and Bob is living proof that real power never goes out of style. I’ll be teaching all of my Classic Power principles in a free webinar on December 19th and 22nd. The last one filled up fast, so if you want in, don’t wait—sign up now. Link below.

In a perfectly sequenced swing, the torso decelerates to help deliver the lead arm. If your front arm is casting off and pushing, you’re going to struggle with a down and across swing. Give this feel a try before you swing 👀🔥

3 great mobility moves here to help you make a fuller turn in your golf swing ⛳️🧘‍♀️😎 Comment “Senior” for my FREE short ebook on fitness training for the senior golfer 🙌 As we age we lose range of motion, strength + explosiveness and so senior golfers in particular need to be working on all these areas 🏋️‍♂️ A shorter swing arc is a big contributing factor towards losing distance and these 3 simple mobility moves from home can be a great starting point to help you regain some rotation, length and width in your swing 👌

more GOLF micro-mechanics that will break your brain If you release the #golf club earlier or later, that changes both low point and arc depth. This has a dramatic effect on ground contact location. Here's the scary part. An earlier release that creates just 2 degrees less shaft lean at impact is the difference between a flush strike and laying a divot over the ball. This is just another reason why your golf swing can feel the same from swing to swing, yet produce incredibly different results. If you want to learn the truth, as well as what to do about it, I put together an incredibly geeky golf webinar (7 Advanced Ways To Improve Your Game) which you can get (see next attached tweet/post)

Miguel Angel Jiménez has one of the smoothest, most unhurried, and most effective golf swings ever put on display. Never a care in the world. He simply swings from the inside, lets it work over the top, and then strolls away from aces like he's competing in a Macarena contest. The beauty of Jiménez's motion isn't just that it works—it's that it's built to last. If you'd like to learn the classic over-the-top swing that's stood the test of time, check out my Classic OTT instructional video.
