TESLA: Cybercab Fleet Lot, Houston, TX, 8-8-2026 Saturday, August 8th, was a very busy day of Cybercab & Robotaxi testing at Houston's Fleet Lot, as well as the Tesla Hempstead Center. Difficult to count how many Cybercabs were here due to the constant ins and outs of the fleet. If I had to guess, +140. I spotted at least 3 Starlink enabled cabs and multiple with the Starlink indention, ready for a mount. The calibration Cybercab was also in use today as well. If you notice, at one point there was either a shift change or break where employees formed a line and were being handed something from the back of a Model Y. There is a large 37 pic, 3 vid, Subscriber Photo-Thread attached! So sub and check it out. Enjoy!

This may be the longest reverse I have seen Tesla FSD do for me. I was dropping a passenger off at a "local motel", all the way in the back where there is a big fence separating the motel from an industrial junkyard and no easy way to get back out. Tesla FSD v14.2.2 did an amazingly long reverse, all the way through the front gate and then turn around to get on our way to the next passenger. Every day there seems to be something new from Tesla FSD that I see while doing Uber in Houston that just amazes me.

🇺🇸 Tesla has published new safety data for FSD Supervised, and the methodology is worth a look as much as the numbers. FSD has now covered over 12.6 billion miles, with nearly 4.9 billion of those driven in cities, where the hazards are densest. With FSD engaged, Tesla reports 7 times fewer major collisions, 7 times fewer minor collisions, and 5 times fewer off-highway collisions. What makes that interesting is how strictly the company counts against itself. If FSD was active at any point in the 5 seconds before a crash, it goes down as an FSD collision. That includes cases where the driver grabbed the wheel back or the system handed control over right before impact. Tesla also assigns no fault at all. If another car runs a red light and hits a Tesla on FSD, it still counts against FSD. Collisions are defined by federal standard rather than company preference, using airbag deployment for major crashes and a velocity change of 8 km/h within 150 milliseconds for minor ones. The data pipeline behind it is enormous. In one quarter alone, Tesla pulled 2.5 billion telemetry packages from the fleet. Most safety claims in this industry rest on a company's word. 1 Year Anniversary of Tesla Tesla Robotaxi Launch ... Reliving that 1st day! One year ago a small group or people including me received an invitation from Tesla_AI to be among the first to participate in the launch of the Tesla Robotaxi service. The launch took place in Austin Texas on 22 June 2025 and was punctuated by a lot of excitement, some uncertainty or what to expect, waiting for the app to download and then hailing the first ride as the small group of participants faced out in the initial service area and waited for their Robotaxi to arrive! For this initial launch, Tesla used Model Y's with the "Robotaxi" logos on the doors and rear hatch and had supervisors in the passenger seat but the cars all drove autonomously and did exceptionally well. We had all kinds of media trailing behind trying to get images, interviews or any information about our experiences, and this made for a surreal day, almost like paparazzi chasing after high-profile celebrities. Over the next year, the Robotaxi service would slowly scale to new cities, initially Austin and the San Fransisco areas, and then later to Houston and Dallas while preparations for several more cities were underway. The fleet did scale up but slowly, going through several revisions and updates of the autonomous software, becoming fully unsupervised and the fleet management aspects of the Robotaxi service were further developed. Regulatory permits and filings also took place to position the Robotaxi service for what we all hope will be large-scale expansion including the addition of the new Cybercabs, which are now in limited production and are testing multiple locations around the US. What will year 2 be like for Robotaxi? All indications are a very big year, but ultimately, Tesla needs to demonstrate they can execute on their plans, preparations and Cybercab production. I'm very hopeful they will be able to do so starting very soon! TESLA OPENS ROBOTAXI APP WORLDWIDE AS DRIVERLESS ERA ACCELERATES Tesla has taken its next giant step toward a global autonomous future. The company expanded access to its Robotaxi app beyond North America, allowing users across Japan, Thailand, Hong Kong, South Korea, Australia, Taiwan, Macau, New Zealand, and Mexico to download the platform for the first time. Robotaxi, Tesla’s ride-hailing service powered by its Full Self-Driving technology, is already running pilot programs in Texas, California, and Arizona, with Miami, Houston, Las Vegas, Phoenix, and Dallas next in line. The vehicles have already logged over 550,000 autonomous miles, most from the Bay Area and Austin, and now Tesla is aiming to prove it can scale the system globally. Tesla’s focus is twofold: rapid expansion and full autonomy. The company is working to remove in car safety monitors, using new in cabin data systems to support passengers remotely instead of relying on human supervisors. If successful, Tesla will unlock a new transportation model where rides summon themselves and cars earn income while their owners sleep.
