Robocop the movie was made into an equally impressive Commodore 64 game...with an issue! Released in 1988 by Ocean Software, it was infamous for being rushed out incomplete. On Level 4 (the warehouse/factory stage), the game hits a massive bug where the graphics become completely corrupted and the level is nearly impossible to finish. 5 Facts you didn't want to know about Alien Breed for the Commodore Amiga Alien Breed (1991) is a landmark Amiga title that defined Team17’s early style: tense, atmospheric, and brutally addictive. It was perfect for co-op gaming with mates. Programmed by Andreas Tadic and Peter Tuleby, with graphics by Rico Holmes and iconic music by Allister Brimble. 1. Top-down run-and-gun sci-fi shooter heavily inspired by Aliens: You (and a friend in co-op) explore an infested space station, blasting xenomorph-like aliens (I originally thought they were aliens) while managing limited ammo and health. It mixes fast arcade action with tense resource management. 2. Team17’s breakthrough hit: This was only their second game, after Full Contact, and their first full-price release. It put the UK developer and publisher on the map, before they became famous for the Worms series. 3. This 1988 vertical shooter on the Commodore Amiga kicked off their iconic run with that signature metallic look: smooth scrolling, the awesome tank-to-fighter jet transformations, massive bosses, and pure high-energy action that defined early 16-bit greatness. Absolute classic that still holds up today! Did you know the digitized face that pops up saying "Level One" was Bitmap Brother Eric Matthews! Karateka, released in 1984 for the Apple II by Jordan Mechner (while he was a Yale student!), stood out as a groundbreaking title for its era. My biggest achievement as a student was getting out of bed in time for the majority (not all) classes... The innovations included pioneering rotoscoped animation, where Mechner filmed himself performing karate moves on video, traced the frames by hand, and digitized them frame-by-frame for ultra-fluid, lifelike character movements. It was also one of the first games to use cinematic storytelling scenes, inspired by Akira Kurosawa films, and silent movies: wordless cutscenes with cross-cutting (such as showing the princess in peril or the villain's reactions), dramatic pauses and tracking shots. Mechner also had a sense of humor: The Apple II disk included an Easter egg: the game was single-sided but when you flipped the disk it would pay the game the full game upside-down and mirrored, causing players to call tech support in confusion.

The Game Gear came out April 1991 in the US and was announced to be the 'Game Boy killer.' On paper, it was: - Full-color backlist screen (160x144, 4k colors) - Landscape aspect ratio as opposed to 4:3 - Accessories - Ability to play Master System games and had a TV tuner It sold decent at 10M units but this is dwarfed by the over 100M units sold of the Game Boy. Its main fault - battery life. With only 3-5 hours on SIX AA batteries, it was not very portable - you were forced to get an external rechargeable battery pack or plug into the wall. The Game Boy could go about 14 hours on 4 AA batteries - having a dead Game Gear when the Game Boy still had 9 hours left was a major downside. I had one as a kid (still have it) and I was underwhelmed by the games - eventually I realized it was a portable Master System and It lost most of its appeal to me.

If you had a Nintendo 64, you played this epic classic. Super Mario 64 turns 30 this year. It was the first Mario game in a 3D world, and remains the most successful game ever for the Nintendo 64 with over 11 million (!) copies sold. Being a huge Super Mario fan from the NES era, seeing Mario come to live in a 3D world was incredible. Once again, the goal is to rescue Princess Peach from Bowser, a battle for the ages. To this day, it's my favorite Mario game. Did you play (and finish) it back then?

Soon after the ground reporter shared the fact that it was a road rage and in the CCTV footage where the IAF officer was seen beating the local brutally, That's when you Shiv Aroor shifted the tone. You were completely prepared to do a one sided show as you had already invited a pannalist close to the IAF officer. If you were sincere enough, You should have brought in people from the other side who were present there. Like the ground reporter from other channels spoke to the eye witnesses. Now stop Sh**ing on X.

Starcraft (Blizzard, 1998) is probably the best example of a game that didn't just stand the test of time, it defeated it. To this day, it is still played on a high (competitive) level, has reached ultimate cult status, and is a legend among the greatest games ever made. Blizzard was such an incredible powerhouse in the 90s up until the mid to late 2000s. I played Starcraft for many years and was never very good at it, but I loved it nonetheless. It has such a high skill ceiling that you always feel you can do and get better. And what some of the best pros in esports show is reaching God-like skill level, truly remarkable. Just let this sink in for a second: The game is 27 (!) years old, and is still played on the highest level. If you can name a game that challenges Starcraft in that context, please, I am all ears. The series sold over 17 million copies of games and expansions by the end of 2015, making it the best selling PC strategy game of all time. By the end of 2017, the franchise had grossed over $1 billion in total revenue. Those of you who played it, probably all know Artosis and Tasteless, who made Starcraft a household name in the English speaking markets through their live commenting of tournaments around the world. Sharing this Godot quick tip for the new people trying to figure out how to mess with the game while it's running! ✨ (Thanks to Daniel Queiroz Porto and and Ian Williams for pointing this out) 1. Go to the Project Settings 2. Click "Advanced Settings" 3. In "Window" highlight "Always on Top" and create a new editor override for it by choosing "editor" from the list and clicking "Add" 4. Enable the new override you just added 5. Now when you run the scene (Ctrl+R) the window will always stay on top! 6. Press the Camera icon on top of the viewport to sync your editor camera to the game camera 7. Click on the "Remote" tab of the Scene panel. All of the changes you make to these objects will sync with your game in real time! Bonus Tip: You can make it switch to the "Remote" tab by default when you run the game if you go to Editor Settings (Ctrl+Comma) -> Network -> Debugger and click "Auto Switch to Remote Scene Tree"! #godottips

Feeling Brave Tonight? Back in 1993, TSR released the now infamous board game Dragonstrike. Inside the game was a 30-minute VHS tape to introduce kids to roleplaying, the rules, and theming. The game was a good introduction to younger-brothers and newbies into the game. But the video is an old-school cult classic on the internet. But did you know it did so well that they planned to release a sequel? WildSpace! Based on the D&D setting, Spelljammer, this game was set introduce a whole new level of camp to the game. Sadly it was never released. Now the game only lives on in a single amazing trailer. Check it out!
