55 public schools in Chicago have zero kids proficient in math or reading. They spend $30,000 per student per year. Failure factories.

@JoelWBerry The system is what it does. They don’t want educated students. They want angry ignorant Dem voters on welfare.

And yet the other day Pritzker was babbling about climate change being the biggest existential threat. Dysfunctional educational systems top my list.

Mission accomplished. The last thing Democrats want are citizens equipped with critical thinking skills.

Homeschool your kids.

I will go out on a limb and assume in most homes: No bookshelf No books No kindle books No audiobooks No library books No parents reading to kids No parents reading to selves No parents monitoring homework Plenty of smartphones & video games.

They like keeping them dumb. Easier to control that way.

Those kids are dumb.

It's not the status quo that's failing browns and blacks. They, on average, simply lack the mental hardware to perform remotely close to average White or East Asians. It's IQ. Most blacks (85 IQ avg) are inadmissible into the military (min. IQ equivalent 92, Hispanic avg).

Yet they create hordes of dependent democrat voters. Funny how that works.

One known way to lower crime is with education. Chicago’s priorities are out of whack and the citizens are dying. They spend a lot to protect illegal immigrants that are lowering education which is double strike against recovery.

The kids would be better off running wild with no formal education, but with $30k in bitcoin or the S&P 500 invested in their name every year from K through 12.

It’s only a failure if their intention is to educate kids. Clearly, it isn’t.

They are so bad my Chicago friends all have their kids in private schools at a minimum of $25k per child per year.

I could walk in off the street and teach these children how to read. They’re not even trying!

They are success factories to Marxists. Sad.

Chicago Public Schools (CPS) woll soon be facing a nearly a $1 billion shortfall for for the upcoming school year. Now Chicago wants the Illinois governor and leaders of both Illinois houses to call an emergency session of the Illinois General Assembly to address the funding issues by having the state again bail out Chicago. Cloward-Piven. 😑

I’m sure the kids can spell diversity and pronoun.

Here's what I've come to understand regarding the public school system: It IS meant to indoctrinate and actively shape ideas like relativism, humanism, socialism, critical theory, etc. It IS NOT meant to teach the foundations of objective truth, knowledge and beauty such as math, science, reading, spelling, grammar, classic literature, logic, reason, etc. This can be inferred by assessing the materials, the process and the leadership (teachers union). But it can be truly KNOWN simply by assessing the outputs.

@CoreyBBrooks Nothing will ever change in Democratic run cities until they change who runs them. How many times does history have to repeat itself for people to finally understand?

Thank the teachers unions. Turns out, they don't "work" for the kids.

@AmandaCook90514 A scandal. Should be treated like a scandal. End it and start over.

And the current Mayor and former Chicago Public School teacher Brandon Johnson proudly admitted he didn't give homework and never failed a student.

Wow! Just imagine how many other "blue cities" have a similar problem. 😳

…and that insures that rich Democrats children that attend private schools will all get into the best schools and gain the lucrative jobs.

Defund the Department of Education and scatter it to the wind!

While I’m not a fan of CPS and yes they deserve some of the blame. Sadly this issue starts at home. More than ever we now have students entering K-5 who have no foundational skills of not just academics but basic behavior and emotional wellness. We are in a perfect storm right now in education. People have no idea how terrified they should be of the future in our country.

I think they clearly aren’t spending it on kids. When I was in the PS system in California…here is just one example: As dept. chair I went with a group of 6 teachers and our principal to a conference in, of all places, Las Vegas. First time I’d ever been there. (They don’t call it “sin city” for nothing.) We flew. We stayed in an amazing hotel. We ate 3 restaurant meals daily for 4 days. I - me - little ol’ me - was the ONLY one - THE ONLY ONE - who attended the conference. I went to the boring lectures and “events” alone. Not one teacher and at the very first event - get this, my principal sat at the table with me, as the teachers left one by one. After 10 min., he leaned over and said, “Hey, um…I’m going to go…” I said, O…K. And he left. I spent the last 15 years of my career shaking my head. Stunned. Randi Weingarten is what is in our classrooms. They do nothing for children. They spend nothing on children. Good teachers are leaving. Good teachers are gone. The psychotic Liberal Left is what is left.

Guaranteed The families are a mess

The welfare pipeline. But remember, they will breed and vote (at least their SSN will vote). Keeping the democrats in power for decades to come.

Sounds like they have terrible teachers and curriculum! So despicable and very sad for the kids/students.

Insanity. Teachers unions are the worst.

Govt schools are the root cause of poverty in the US, herein lies the proof...
