6 things that raise your dopamine: - Chocolate: 1.5x above baseline, and transient - gone in seconds to minutes - Sex, both the pursuit and the act: 2x above baseline - Smoked nicotine (cigarettes): 2.5x, very short-lived, which is why chain smoking happens - Cocaine: 2.5x above baseline -...

The “if you enjoy it” line is underrated. A session you hate enough to skip next week is worse programming than a slightly easier one you’ll actually repeat.

The last line is the whole game. Exercise only lifts dopamine if you enjoy it. Same with healing. I tried protocols I dreaded and they did nothing. The habits that felt like life, not punishment, were the ones that stuck and slowly rebuilt me. Choose the 2x you can live with.

Addiction happens when someone would rather find a way to teleport to the finish line from the starting block, than to earn their victory and success by enduring the struggle of hard work.

Same guy, on Rogan last week, had a line about peptides better than anything in the clips going around: this is the first time we are bioprospecting from the body. We pulled the two minutes and walked through what it means for anyone holding a vial, which is the part we live in (research peptide company).

Tricky part is that nobody enjoys working out until you make it a habit so enjoyment increases over time.

Andrew Huberman on why you can't think your way out of stress: Huberman is asked what he means when he says you cannot control the mind with the mind. His answer reframes how we should approach stress, anxiety, and emotional regulation entirely. "If you're very upset, it's hard to talk yourself out of it. If you're stressed, it's hard to think yourself out of it." He explains that when we're in heightened emotional states, we tend to default to mental strategies, rationalizing, "third personing" ourselves, texting a friend, trying to reason our way back to calm. But according to Andrew D. Huberman, Ph.D., this rarely works: "It's very hard to get yourself out of those states with thinking alone." The solution, he argues, lies not in the mind but in the body. "The beauty of the autonomic nervous system is that it traverses the brain and the body and it connects to essentially all the organs of the body. And it's a two-way street such that certain behaviors, even certain patterns of breathing etc. allow us to shift between very very alert and stressed and very calm." This two-way street is the key insight. The body doesn't just receive signals from the brain, it also sends them back. Shifting your physiology shifts your mental state, which in turn shifts the kinds of thoughts and actions available to you. "If you're very very stressed, you're very very upset, two things happen. One, it's very hard to take your focus off whatever it is that's upsetting you. And if you don't know what's upsetting you, you know, pure anxiety, but you don't know why, it's very hard to take your mind off of the feelings of anxiety." In other words, anxiety hijacks your attention and then traps you there. Trying to think your way out only tightens the grip. The way out is to move through the body first: "If we turn to the body and certain behaviors, we are able to move ourselves along the autonomic continuum. And at that point, when we've done that successfully, we are able to think about things differently." "If you can't control the mind with the mind, look to the body to control the mind."

someone cut a 40 second clip of a stream this week. it did 3.8 million views. he got a notification the platform kept the traffic, the streamer kept the clout, and the clip itself paid nothing so i built CUT, open source, on Robinhood Chain chat knows a moment is happening before any dashboard does. CUT listens to that and turns it into money for the person who posts the clip what it does, and all of it sits in the repo in plain text: → joins Twitch and Kick chat and measures speed against each stream's own 5 minute baseline → fires a moment when chat runs 3x over that baseline, or when enough people type "clip it" → calls the Twitch clip API in the same second, because a clip only keeps the 90 seconds before the call → puts every moment on a live board: stream, chat speed, the words chat used, the clip → splits trading fees in a contract with no owner and no setters, then pays clippers weekly by views through a merkle round the boring parts are the point: no key needed to run the watcher, chat is read anonymously it cannot post for you. no auto post, no auto reply, ever launch scripts are dry run by default and refuse to send if the deployed contract is not the one they expect 52 contract tests, MIT, runs on your own machine one command replays three minutes of recorded chat and fires a real moment on your screen without touching the network, so you can watch it work before you trust it the thresholds are 12 messages per 10 seconds and 3x baseline. tell me which one you would move first, i want to argue about it repo in the first reply
