A 3,800-foot private strip in the middle of the desert, at the base of a 1,300-foot tall mesa 🏜️ A go-around would mean an immediate left turn (steep) followed by a climb in high density altitude, which means you’re losing lift (while in the turn) at low speed heading into higher terrain. Nope 👎🏻 Because of that rock wall, you can only land to the South (16) and take-off to the North (34). Which means you’re likely land with a tail wind most of the time, since the predominant winds are from the NW. While challenging, this is a incredibly fun airport to land at.
