On repeat - you *never* have to present an officer your ID unless you are operating a motor vehicle. Period. They know this and when their fee-fees get hurt they act out.

The article states that it was “an open palm strike”. Those were clearly closed fist punches thrown by the police sergeant. He needs to be terminated for professional misconduct. A clear message regarding excessive force needs to be sent by barring him from law enforcement work.

If only there were a way to weed out police officers like this who 'lose it' for no apparent reason. I would suggest firing him immediately and charging him with assault, but that's just me.
