🇪🇺 EUROPE STAND UP TALL! VOLTRAC – a ai-autonomous heavy-duty tractor just came out of stealth! Nicknamed THOR – usecases are farming and defense! This is a beast ⚡️ - It can carry 4ton+ - Operate 8-20 hours and hotswap batteries - One farmer can easily supervise multiple tractors remotely - It's stronger, but also cheaper (buy & operate) than competitors AND most importantly – they are at-farm repairable because it's kept intentionally as simple as possible. "70% less components" so that farmers can repair at farm vs expensive shops – plus hot-swap for redundant batteries and motors The closest thing I saw so far is the Chinese Honghu T70 which is imho a more complex machine (good luck repairing) and more expensive at comparable strength. Btw the founders got an insane background – quantum and machine learning expert meets aerospace engineer. Google X quantum researcher meet Destinus lead engineer (literally). They picked this because it's important to make farming economically sustainable in Europe and they have family in these industries. And additionally, this bull can be used at the frontline. Remote controlled or autonomous. 24/7 operate-able with hot-swaps of batteries. We think Europe needs more pro-European, pro-tech, pro-abundance, pro-optimism propaganda. So we made it. Posters, t-shirts, hoodies. Full-on propaganda. We've been handing them out at robotics meetups and clubs all over Europe for weeks, and people love them. Why we are doing this: Europeans know more about the companies in the States than the ones right here at home. We need to change that. Time for propaganda. Autonomous tractor from Netherlands! 🇳🇱 Despite all the narrative, we are still building awesome companies in hardware space in Europe. Recently, I've posted about a Chinese autonomous tractors company. So today I wanted to show something that was created in the middle of Europe. This is a fully autonomous tractor from Dutch company AgXeed, designed to work on fields without any human supervision. It's powered by a diesel engine that drives a generator, which then powers electric motors driving the tracks. The fuel tank allows for 24 hours of continuous operation. (nice!) The rear hitch has an 8-ton lift capacity, the front has 3 tons. It's equipped with electric PTO, hydraulic pump, and all the connections you'd find on a traditional tractor, meaning you can attach standard farm implements. (nice! x2) Safety and navigation are handled by a LiDAR sensor on top, ultrasonic and radar sensors, and contact-sensitive bumpers. RTK GNSS receiver provides positioning accuracy down to 2.5 cm. A student in Zurich sleeps in a camper van outside a hangar every night. Just to have more hours to build a humanoid robot. He’s obsessive. He's not alone. 2,500 students across Europe are getting into robotics right now. And now they united and just launched: ESRA, the European Student Robotics Association. 🇪🇺🦾 They are bringing together highly talented young people, give them space, give them resources and let them build. By now already 13 robotics clubs. 8 countries. 2,500+ students. I visited several of them over the last weeks to get to know them and let them tell their stories. We've also been helping behind the scenes where we can, because this is exactly what Europe needs. Several multiple billion dollar companies will come out of the ESRA network. Right here in Europe. If the Bay Area had a student robotics network like this, they would never shut up about it. Time we do the same. 😤🔥🇪🇺 It only needs a few crazy ones to fix a continent. Turns out they're already building. 🇪🇺

Culture is genetic because behavior is genetic. This beaver never saw a dam in its life. No beavers or anything else ever taught it to build a dam. It wants to build a dam because it is a beaver. Many beavers together build a big dam. That is beaver culture. Humans are not different. Nothing is different. This is what life is. This is how life works. Your body is your mind. A caterpillar wants to build a chrysalis. A bee wants to build a hive. A lion wants to build a pride. You are not special. You are not above your nature. you are INSIDE of it. The thoughts that we think are genetic thoughts. The crimes we commit are genetic crimes. The art we create is genetic art. Just like this beaver, you can give the animal different sticks and it will build a different dam, but it will always build a dam. And you can give humans different "education," but the human will always use it to do what its genes tell it to do. This is the first big answer that you need. This is the biggest piece of the puzzle. This is how to understand people 90% of the way. You just... notice what they do, and get out of the way, and watch them do it. And if they need sticks, you give them sticks. And if you don't like what they do, you have to get away from them. You cannot train dam-building into them or out of them any more than you can with a beaver. A beaver wants to build a dam because it is a beaver. Whatever you see people build, that's what they wanted to build from the sticks they got in the river they were in. Stop pretending you can change it.

Whatever you see people build, that's what they wanted to build from the sticks they got in the river they were in. Stop pretending you can change it.

We should not accept that Europe is just a salad of small and middle powers, seasoned with enemies of Europe. When united we are truly invincible. Europe can and must be a global force. Not one that reacts late, but one that defines the future. That would help everyone – from the Middle East to every other region in the world. That would help Europe itself because the challenges we face now are challenges to the European way of life where people matter, where nations matter. Europe can help build a better world. Europe must build a better world. A world without war. But for that, Europe needs strength. For that, we must act together – and act in time. And most of all – we must have the courage to act.

Today is Europe Day. And Ukraine is marking it not formally or through sloganeering, but fully aware that we are already an inseparable part of the European family. We are defending Ukraine, our independence, our future – and in doing so, we in Ukraine are defending our Europe. A Europe of which Ukraine has been and will remain a part. From the first days of the full-scale war until today, Europe has stood with Ukraine. And this is not charity – it is a choice made by Europeans: to stand on the same side as the brave and the strong – the Ukrainians who are fighting today for peace and true protection against tyranny, not only for themselves, but for the entire continent. And we will inevitably defend our state, our people, and our right to freely choose our future – a future in Europe. Glory to Ukraine!

But just couple months before the acquisition I had a chance to see Amiga in action in Watsonville, California (pictures in comments). Amiga Max is an autonomy-first, diesel-hybrid electric platform working in vineyards. It runs a full spray shift on a fraction of the fuel and labor compared to traditional tractors. Electric rate controller applies product only where it's needed. Turns and skips? It shuts off automatically. You're not spraying empty space or rows you already covered. Less chemical wasted. Better for the environment and the bottom line. Every acre is logged automatically. Full traceability and reporting without manual paperwork. Farmers know exactly what got sprayed where and when. One operator uses the Bonsai app to plan, watch, and adjust multiple robots. "I want you to think of the world as a massive network of networks, a world of hyperconnectivity, a world of flows: flows of capital, commodities, energy, data, people, and ideas. Once you conceptualise the world in that way, you understand just how important choke points, hubs, and intermediaries are in this global system of flows. Two of the most important choke points in this world of flows are the Bab al-Mandab, between Yemen and the Horn of Africa, and the Strait of Hormuz, between Oman and Iran, both of which you have probably heard a great deal about on television over the past few weeks. So rather than looking at a system of states, we are really looking at a system of intermediaries, guardians, and gatekeepers. What we have seen is how a country like Iran can become a strategic gatekeeper to the flows that sustain not just the Gulf and the Middle East, but Europe as well. We are very much affected by this here in Europe. It is also a system in which size does not necessarily matter. It does not matter whether you are a great power or a superpower, or whether you have the largest military in the world, because we can see that the Americans are very much out of their depth. They are unable to provide the security that is needed. In fact, it is often small and middle powers that play an important outsourced role when they come together, build alliances, and create consensus, rather than relying on the kind of coercion and compulsion Donald Trump has been using. This is a man-made supply chain crisis. I would argue it is one of the worst supply chain crises in history. It was entirely avoidable. It is extremely difficult to manage, and we will probably have to live with it for some time. But it is also an opportunity for Europe. I think we will talk about this more this afternoon. As the Gulf begins to think about disentangling from America, Europe too is thinking about how it can disentangle from America. First round. As early as it gets. Europe invented industry. We're the birthplace of precision manufacturing. The second largest manufacturing hub on the planet. Leaders in automation and robotics. And yet… We sell out our best tech to China. We export our best founders & most of our investment money to the US. That's insanity. What should we do instead? Build the next trillion euro companies in robotics, manufacturing, automation right here: in Europe. Showcase to young founders what is possible and change the system around them where needed. Ukraine believes that every democratic nation in Europe deserves to be a full member of the EU. And we are working as actively as possible to achieve this. Please, do not forget that Ukraine merits it because it has paid more than any other European country for its right to be free, independent, and European. This right is not only for Ukraine. It is also the right of other nations to be independent from Russia. The future of Europe – free, united and in peace – is being decided in our defense. That shows how unique our situation is. I’m grateful to everyone who recognizes this and who takes the necessary steps to show that Europe truly values and supports it.
