Why? Do we need to spend this money? So I need to drive to the train station. Take the train with stops to Edmonton or Calgary. Once there I have to rent a vehicle or taxi everywhere. So much more convenient to have your own vehicle. All this to save what would likely be 1 hour. It might not have saved any time by the time you get to your destination with a combination of services. We aren’t Europeans where everything is close together.

Very excited for our first-ever NBA on Prime broadcast tonight. A lot of hours, teamwork, brainstorming, preparation, and obsessing about what we think will make an amazing viewer experience has gone into this. Launch is the starting line, not the finish line. And, we have a lot of continued invention and work ahead of us. But, sure is exciting to get to the starting line tonight. Looking forward to kicking off with two great matchups in Boston Celtics vs. NEW YORK KNICKS and Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Los Angeles Lakers!

Thanks to advocacy from our Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi, the federal government announced a new investment of $3.4 billion in the Portal, our transit center, to bring Caltrain — and eventually High Speed Rail — into the heart of our Downtown. With plans for 11 transit systems within and around the center, this investment isn’t just a commitment to the future of transportation in our city, region, and state, it’s a commitment to a thriving future for San Francisco. It’s a sign of what we can do when we work together and think big about what’s possible.
