Ultraman Omega's backstory spliced together. Yeah, the beam that hit him in episode 1 made him crash to Earth's moon. And then a second more powerful beam attack from the moon sent him plummeting to Earth and gave him amnesia.

Elon Musk reveals the vision he's most excited to see in his lifetime "Earth only receives about half a billionth of the Sun's energy. The Sun is essentially all the energy" "If you wanted to harness a millionth of the sun's energy, that would be about 100,000x more electricity than we currently generate on Earth for all of civilization" "The only way to scale is to go to space with solar. Launching from Earth, you can get to about a terawatt per year" "Beyond that, you want to launch from the moon. You want to have a mass driver on the moon" "With that mass driver on the moon, you could do probably a petawatt per year"

Wait… now that Elon made it clear the priority is Moon over Mars… does this mean that once we have a city/base on the Moon, the launch cadence changes? Like, would the 26-month Earth-to-Mars window be less, since missions could go from the moon?

🚨THE LEADING EXPLANATION FOR HOW THE MOON FORMED DOESN'T HOLD UP. "The leading explanation is a glancing blow from a Mars-like planetoid body." "It just came out of nowhere and just crashed into Earth. What are the odds of that particular collision happening?" "There are a lot of ad hoc aspects." "The more you dig on the moon, you get into kind of less dense layers. With the earth, it's just more dense all the way down." "If some perfect proportional slice of the earth popped out of the earth, you would expect it to match the earth." "The distribution of mass below the surface of the moon is anomalous too." "The Apollo spacecraft, while orbiting the moon, they had problems with landing. They had to correct their orbits because of these gravitational anomalies." "Some places there's enormous concentration of mass and we don't know why. In some places there's a big gap of missing mass underneath and we don't know why."

In 1996, they knew exactly what would make or break moon colonization. Without lunar ice, you're hauling everything from Earth at massive cost. With it, you produce fuel locally and moon bases become economically sustainable. This wasn't about water for drinking, this is about extracting hydrogen and using it as a fuel source. They called it correctly, and since 1996 we found lunar ice: suddenly moon colonization just became a reality.

AWESOME NEWS! We now have a new feature on the earthquake program that my viewers are going to be mind blown to see. THE MOON, its phases and closeness / distance from Earth! This data was a feature on the old earthquake program I used to use, but now it looks like a real moon, and orbits earth when I want. I can turn it off or on at a whim, and show it when necessary!!! Super cool stuff Grok is doing!

The JUICE mission from European Space Agency returns to Earth this month for a gravitational assist from both the Moon & Earth. It's destination is Jupiter, where it will study its moons and even orbit Ganymede before crashing into it. ESA's Juice mission

ELON MUSK: The only way to reach 1,000 terawatts of AI power is a mass driver on the Moon. "In order to get to 1,000x from a terawatt per year. The only way that we can really achieve that is on the moon with a mass driver, essentially where you do local production of photovoltaics and radiators on the moon, maybe you bring the chips from Earth, or you could conceivably make the chips on the moon, and but you need most of the mass to be made on the moon, so you don't have to transport it to the moon from Earth, and then because the moon has no atmosphere and only 1/6 Earth's gravity, you can accelerate the AI satellites into deep space without a rocket, so you can basically shoot them into space using an electromagnetic gun, like a, like a rail gun type. I mean, just, it's basically a linear electric motor, as a way to think about it."

Earth and the Moon appear together in the vastness of space, forming one of the most iconic views in our solar system. Earth shines with its vibrant blue oceans and swirling clouds, while the Moon reflects sunlight as a quiet and distant companion. Despite the distance between them, their connection is powerful, with gravity keeping them bound in a constant relationship. The Moon plays a key role in stabilizing Earth and influencing tides. This view reminds us of the beauty of our cosmic neighborhood and the delicate balance that exists between these two worlds. A simple yet powerful perspective of our place in space. #nasa #space #spacex
