A useful way to think about session structure is bandwidth. You don’t walk into training with unlimited CNS resources. There’s a finite amount you can express in a single session. Once it’s spent, the signal doesn’t disappear, it just degrades. That’s why hierarchy matters

David founder Peter Rahal on why there's not much innovation in food: "Food entrepreneurs are predominately luddites. A lot of talented entrepreneurs just don’t go into food. Because it’s hard. And it’s not obvious how to differentiate. Nutrition science is not seen as a real science. This leads to a lot confusion in the market. For example, the economics don’t work to study the effect of a potato on the human body. There’s just not enough money in potatoes to justify the R&D budget to learn more about them. And so there’s actually not a lot of money going into the research and science of nutrition. Peter Thiel has a quote “If you ever put science behind something, it’s not a real science.” And so nutrition science is not a real science. But it can be. There’s just no money in it. And what is food? It’s really just understanding biochemistry. But it just doesn’t exist. And I think it’s probably driven by the economics of it. So I think that’s the main reason. How to Create Rotation With the Back Leg How you want to actually create rotation with the back leg. For me and higher level guys, I don’t even like to think about rotation. If you feel your hips rotating, it’s probably too slow. This is such a violent, explosive movement that happens in milliseconds. You shouldn’t even be able to feel it. That’s why I think about it as a weight shift. When you’re putting force into the ground, into that X direction, most of your weight is on the back leg. Then once you create that impulse and it propels you forward, all you need to think about is getting to the front leg. That force naturally rotates the hips into foot plant. For a lot of higher level guys, this helps a lot. They don’t have to think about rotating the hips. Because that can actually mess things up. Instead, it’s just force into the ground and get to the front leg. The pelvis will rotate on its own.

This is why I laugh when single people say, “You don’t get the dating game, you’re married.” No, you don’t get it. In a healthy marriage, you have to date to win every single day of your life. Singles can fake it, they can act rich, smart, funny, and attractive for a night, then disappear into laziness until the next performance. Marriage doesn’t give breaks. Miss 24 hours of effort, and problems start. You have to be “on” all the time, because letting go is where attraction dies and tension builds.
