Accra–Kumasi Expressway Project This historic project marks Ghana’s first true expressway, a modern high-speed corridor linking Accra and Kumasi. Stretching almost 200 kilometres from the coast to the forest belt, the expressway will transform travel and trade, cut journey times significantly, and boost growth across the southern regions. Minister @Cassielforson thank you. I want to add something if you may consider. Turn the median between the 6 lanes into a passenger rails. Chicago has similar setup that I believe will serve the people well. So 3 lanes Northbound, 2-way Express train, then 3 lanes Southbound

I suggest the Fuel stations should be 50 or 100km apart, it should also be stationed directly along the road it should be a branch road. The should not be any community along the road to defeat the purpose of the highway.Ghanaians have a very bad attitude when they see good road

If His Excellency John Dramani Mahama can accomplish only one project and it is this, he would be the most impactful modern president of Ghana. His name would be forever etched glowingly in the history books of Ghana and on our lips. I pray he is successful.

This in fact if completed will be the best thing that has ever happened to Ghana's infrastructure development since Nkrumah's days. Thank you Mahama, Thank you Ato for thinking into the future.

To those advocating for a railway over an expressway: rail can’t serve the thousands of private commuters who rely on the Accra–Kumasi stretch daily. A well-designed expressway benefits both private and commercial transport. We shouldn’t pit one against the other. Good roads 4now

We did not get timelines for delivering this wonderful idea. When will it start, when will it be completed.

Why stop at Kumasi ? Why not continue to Tamale ?

Let us not forget that creating more high speed roads doesn’t mean the skills of the people will meet it. We must also ensure we uplevel the standard of drivers on our roads or this will just lead to more devastating outcomes. Please keep this in mind.

@Endrasnyante Why construct another road why we can channel that money into constructing a railway line? A single train replaces hundreds of vehicles. That’s fewer accidents, less congestion, less fuel waste, and less damage to roads.

This is an innovative project and a thoughtful one no doubt but one question I want to ask is does Ghana need to invest in a 6 lane express way from Accra-Kumasi or a working and effective train system to serve the same purpose and even more? This is one of the most important development questions we need to ask ourselves and the answer depends on what problem Ghana wants to solve, whether short-term or long-term: • traffic • economic growth • logistics/transport cost • national productivity • long-term sustainability But I'm very sure our abled minister and this listening government have done their feasibility studies and are implementing what is best for the country now. We hope to see more innovative ideas in the space of transportation.
