Added ship collision using Control Rig. The spheres run sphere traces for contact detection, then scale the prop up. Verse reads that scale and uses it to affect speed and turning. Also adding some camera shake and FX. Feels pretty jank, but it kind of works 😅 #UEFN #Fortnite

Love it or hate it, A.I is already part of how things are being made and maybe I’ll catch some heat for saying that. Even so, I decided to build a platform for UEFN. I created my own custom water material and underwater post process material in UEFN! It uses distance fields to create foam and ripples around objects on the surface and I can also add algae/pondscum to the surface. I plan on adding more features to this material soon! For underwater, I project a caustics material along surface normals in the underwater post process material as well as using scene depth to make things up close appear clear and things farther away appear not as clear. #UEFN #Fortnite

The #geometrynodes Curve Normals Proxy Rig is almost ready! You place it on the face and adjust some controls to line things up, and it just works. The controls can be worked with in lots of different ways. You can attach it to an existing rig or animate it. Those bones are controlling a mesh which controls the curve points, so you can also make Shapekeys on the meshes instead and Drive them to match other expression keys! The forehead above the top curve blends to Radial Normals, and under the chin blends to the actual mesh Normals. I'm adding the rest of the controls to allow completely arbitrary Normals per curve point, and then its just cleanup and it can be released! (There's lots more that can be added to it like falloff and interpolation controls, but if I try to put everything into the first version it'll never release.)

I kept seeing different types of pictures of the reflecting pool, so I figured I’d go down there and check it out and do some reporting lol. It’s basically a tale of two perspectives. From right next to the water it looks like the ninja Turtles secret of the ooze. It’s actually so green. It’s kind of neat and interesting, but also kind of gross looking. some kind of chemical reaction happened. But then when I went up to Lincoln and looked at it, it looked much cooler and much bluer. However, from what it looks like, they’re gonna have to do some kind of treatment of the water so that it’s not neon green.

Okay, so I spent some time on Friday to make some sparks for the explosions - I also set up the debris to have flickering fire on it when it first explodes! I'm locking the scale of the facing cards, and scaling/offsetting the UVs to do hardcoded scaled pre-made sprites!
