🚨ADHD Isn't a Bug: It's a Suppressed Superpower On Whitney Cummings's appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience, she made a point that deserves more attention than the headlines it'll get. What we call ADHD may not be a deficit at all. It may be a concentration system that only...

As someone diagnosed with ADHD, I really appreciate this rant from Joe Rogan. It’s exactly what every parent needs to hear BEFORE they decide to medicate their child. “Whatever that f*cking [ADHD] is, it’s a superpower. It’s a superpower if you use it right. Just the idea that you have to medicate a kid because you can’t sit in school. Find out if that kid’s good at other stuff. Find out if there’s a thing that. Okay, maybe they can’t sit there where someone’s teaching them math. Maybe they get bored real quick... I bet they focus like a motherf*cker when they’re playing video games, right? So what’s that all about? Find the thing that that kid can lock into. “The thing is, you make people do things that are completely unnatural. You make people sit down when they’re six in a chair, while some lady who’s making $35,000 a year doesn’t like kids, is teaching them some sh*t that she doesn’t care about. “So there’s no energy in the room… So they’re talking. ‘This is bullsh*t. This class sucks’… and then they get in trouble for talking like, ughhh… ‘Your child’s a problem.’ Is the child really the problem? “Seems like the child has a lot of energy. That’s not a problem. You’re not providing an inspiring environment for a growing mind.” MY TAKE: Don’t rush to medicate kids. Find out what excites them and watch them thrive.

Joe Rogan says he watched his “wild little” neighbor “go flat” the second his mom drugged him on ADHD meds. His guest, who wrote the entire Yellowstone series, shakes his head and tells him ADHD is actually a “f*cking superpower if you understand it.” He says his ADHD is exactly why he can sit in a crowded airport for 12 hours straight, writing a script and never lose focus. TAYLOR SHERIDAN: “They tried to give me medicine for the ADHD.” ROGAN: “Did they?” SHERIDAN: “They did give it to me when I was a kid… You’re lobotomized… And so my parents were like, ‘Fuck it. Just let him run around.’” ROGAN: “My neighbor’s kid, they gave it to him when I lived in California. It was such a bummer. He was this wild little kid. And they gave it to him, and all of a sudden he was flat. And the lady was like, ‘Oh, he’s on medication now because he’s hyperactive.’ I’m like, ‘Oh, my God.’ Not my kid. Not my place… And I kept thinking, if somebody did that to me when I was a kid, for sure I would have been on drugs.” SHERIDAN: “It’s a f*cking superpower, if you understand it.” ROGAN: “Exactly. It’s a superpower. If you could find something you love.” SHERIDAN: “People say, ‘How in the world can you write a script? You write all these things.’ It’s not that hard. Once I know what it is, I can sit. You could sit me in an airport, around a thousand people. I won’t hear them. And I can sit there for 12 hours straight.” ROGAN: “Because you love it.” SHERIDAN: “I just hyperfocus.”
