Madison Beer explains why her standalone single “15 MINUTES” isn’t on ‘locket’: “I love that song, but when I was putting the album together, it just didn’t feel right to me in a weird way. No shade to the song, because it basically opens my show. It just felt too intense, maybe that’s the word. ‘yes baby’ and ‘make you mine’ were enough of that. It could’ve also been on the deluxe, but I was trying not to fill the deluxe tracklist with an old song.”

J. Cole explaining how the 2nd side of The Fall-Off (Disc 39) almost didn’t happen. It was originally gonna be just the Disc 29 version with 15 songs, and it was gonna follow ONLY the concept of Disc 29, but be more interpretative, instead of the way it is now, where the album because divided into 2 sides, and Disc 29 being an a lot more easy to follow story that progresses from song to song… Reminder that these changes came because of the events of the rap beef and the apology that came after it. Before that, J. Cole already had a release date planned for The Fall-Off and it was 8 weeks after Might Delete Later. And that version of The Fall-Off was so very different by the sounds of it. But, the version we got sounds like it’s so much better than that original version, so honestly, we gotta thank Drake & Kendrick for that whole situation cause it led to an even better album from J. Cole 🔥

This fandom continues to be disappointing. They trend BTS is 7 and BTS only has Army when in fact Taehyung only has his loyal fans. When the surprise drop of LMA and RD came out, the previous song already had been out for 4 weeks. Army decided that a 4 week old song still was the priority and playlists not only consisted of the 4 week old song but the song’s remixes. Only 2 weeks after RD AND LMA dropped a new remix dropped for the now 6 week old song. Army advised the 6 week old song should still be prioritized and increased. When Layover dropped the priority still was not Taehyung. Several threads from Army stating the newly dropped album would increase the now 8 week old song. Fans were then gaslit by Army saying this happens every time a new album comes out, old songs increase. But guess who songs didn’t increase when the latest album came out? Taehyung. 3 weeks after the release of Layover a new song emerged. The priority again is not Taehyung. Army wants to not only chart the new song but to keep the now 11 week old song at the top. When fans asked for a recomeback for Layover they were told it was already done and it’s now time for a member’s birthday and the goals were to increase a 28 week old song higher than 4 week old Layover. You might be thinking what recomeback was done because you didn’t notice. Well, it came in the form of asking for 200 screen shots and they called it a day. Is Kim Taehyung a part of BTS? 🐥: Honestly, I’ve been thinking whether I should put “fairytale demo” in this album. But I wanted the album to end it there. No extra songs. Just clean and empty. Like when you go watch a movie and it ended just like and youre like “what?? just like that?”, yeah i wanted to do that. So I didnt put it in. And then if you notice. The album has not many songs in it and the songs are not long. Because, I focused on the lyrics. I dont want to force myself to say more when I already have said everything. So thats why its quite short. But just know that I’ve said everything I have to tell, and express in the album.

It genuinely pisses me off that they are acting like Taylor false advertised The Life of a Showgirl themes when the album is everything she said it would be. They just acted deaf and blind to all the descriptors for the album and how it was more upbeat and nothing like TTPD.

TAP by TAEYONG was introduced as one of the best songs of the first half of 2024 in MUVE music magazine podcast jung minjae (music critic): the song i recommend is TAP by taeyong. it was released on february 26 and was his second mini album. he released such a great album, but then he went off to the military right after releasing it, which was a shame. to be honest, at the time, i worked really hard to try to get him to appear on our show MUVE, but his enlistment date was too close. by the time the album came out, it was already impossible to make it happen. although we couldn’t have him on the show in the end, i can’t help but think how amazing it would’ve been if he had more time to release the album and carry out a variety of promotions leisurely. after all, taeyong created this entire album himself. every song is self-composed. when you think of nct, there’s often a perception that their music is difficult, abstract, and not easy to approach. but this album retains taeyong's unique color while also being very appealing to a wider audience. it’s such a well-balanced work that strikes the perfect balance between artistry and appeal, and it’s such a great performance piece as well. i think TAP is one of the standout achievements in k-pop dance music this year. and the fact that it’s self-composed makes it even more remarkable. i really hope we get to meet taeyong next time!

Not unemployment, not inflation, not governance, just a microphone and some lyrics apparently powerful enough to rattle the entire administration of PM Abiy Ahmed. You have to ask, what kind of government hears a few songs and thinks, “this needs to be stopped”? Is it really about #TeddyAfro being Amhara, or is it that the lyrics might land a little too accurately? If anything, this just proves the point: when a government feels threatened by music, it’s not the music that’s the problem. Because banning an album like it’s contraband doesn’t make it look dangerous, it makes the regime look nervous, and if the goal was to keep it quiet, well, they’ve done the exact opposite. Nothing boosts an album release like turning it into forbidden content. Congratulations, they may have just turned an album release into the very national conversation they were trying to avoid.
