Cameron Baird, 32, was killed in act of bravery that won him the Victoria Cross but cost him his life on the battlefield of Afghanistan in 2013. Since then, honouring their son, his legacy and his sacrifice has been a devoted duty for Doug and Kay Baird. “It’s extremely important that we represent Cameron because he can no longer speak for himself” Living Victoria Cross recipients are entitled to a $5,696 to cover travel costs to VC events. The Bairds were awarded half of that allowance to attend events in their son’s honour but Anthony Albanese has now put a stop to that. There is SO much proof of his innocence yet companies still thrive off of making money and sensationalizing anything and everything that has his name in it.
