An ABC program called “Stuff the British Stole” got high school kids to design new versions of the Australian flag. This is disgraceful. I called the show out previously and was immediately blocked by the creator. Exactly what I thought! Who are the parents? I grew up and was made to respect and value this country. We didn’t try and make it little Moscow!

They should be teaching our children about the flag and its significance to Australia, we learnt all about it at school, made us appreciate the flat, our country and what the flag actually stood for.

Education was a lot different when I was a child compared to today’s standards. I had a positive outlook of this country and was taught the history but I was never demonised by the events, nor should I. It’s so sad what the system has become.

When i lived in Gove 40 year's ago they did the samething at my school. Everyone had to design a flag for the NT. They also taught us that the pygmies where the real first Australians and the black fellas committed genocide against them.

It’s not just in kindergarten. My client who is a childcare worker works in the babies room. ages eight weeks to 18 months. They have to do a acknowledgement to country, every day. They’re doing it to babies. this is a private school in Toorak with a childcare attached.

I remember having to redesign the Australian flag back in Year 6 and we were pushed with this same bullshit propaganda throughout my whole schooling. I didn't do anything because I was just confused and thought it was weird and wrong.

50 years ago a redesign of the flag would have been about aesthetics, but the symbolism would have been largely agreed. Now there is a huge schism through Australian society. The symbols that one person considers representative of something sacred mean less than zero to another person, is they misrepresent. Even the idea that to get to the heart of what it means to be Australian is more authentic coming from the mouths of schoolchildren. The fact that they're not consulting with retirees is telling. The values that built this nation are considered outdated and irrelevant.

Australia wouldn't exist as a country if it weren't for the founding nation, the British. To do away with the Union Flag is an insult to all those who built and created it and to those whom formed law and order where it allowed you the freedom to live in a place without chaos.
