Or you just cut the hole into a rectangle and be done with it. then cut the patch accordingly. By the way double brace would work better or a california patch works on most things under 6" x 6" I've done them on holes up to 12" with a brace behind for added support Also that looks like the back of the plasterboard.

Why use tape to draw an outline when you clearly still have the peice you cut out to create the hole in the first place? 🤣 "Content creation" - 622k views

Cool but you patched the wrong side of the drywall…

That mud job makes me sick. He obviously didn’t teach you to tape and mud your joints.

And since most men don’t know how to properly build things anymore, this kind of shit work will be looked at like it’s good…….just cut a square and patch it in half the time and effort

I would have cut a square out, re framed and drywalled. But hey. To each his own.

You need to put the wood on either side. One in the middle won’t work.

I hate it. Cut the patch, cut the wall to match the patch. If its a large problem wood on 2 sides.

An inexperienced retard taught you that.. you need joint tape and joint compound not spackle.. and cutting damage out into a square an to the studs is best for future bulging efy

The proper way would be to cut it square then back cut the new piece leaving the front paper intact about 2” around the edge which acts as a joint tape preventing cracks later on. Ask any drywall guy and I promise they have made many blowout patches!

This is the stupidest shit ever. Cut it into a square or a circle if small enough. This video would have been half the length.

An experienced builder what have made the hole a rectangle by enlarging the size and then cut right the right size drywall and filled it, using more then one backing piece.

Just cut a square piece of plasterboard slightly bigger than the hole place it over the hole run a pencil round it cut it out with a pad saw two pieces of wood on inside place the square piece of board in scrim and skim

Taught you to use the back of a board as the face 🙄

Better to just cut the hole square then leave flaps on the new piece as overlap . It creates strength and is easier to finish .

Profilbild von Stephen Crook

Well he should have used more battens then, and tape over the joints. So, should I keep going…?

Pretty much what I did when moving from my military housing unit and repairing what the kids did to the drywall. I used Crest toothpaste as drywall mud; let it dry and painted it with white paint tinted with cigarette ash to make it look properly aged. It was an art...
