What are the different ways of doing Intermittent Fasting? 1. Fixed feeding and fasting windows on daily basis, such as 6 or 8 hours of eating window and 18 or 16 hours of fasting windows, respectively. One is permitted to consume black coffee, green tea, lemon water (without sugar) and water during the fasting window. Do not add milk or sugar to your coffee or tea. 2. Alternate day fasting. One day of normal feeding/eating as desired, followed by fasting the next day and repeating this cycle on a regular basis. On fasting days, up to 500 calories consumption is permitted. 3. 5:2 pattern of intermittent fasting. Eating normally on 5 days, and fasting on two days (every week). You can choose whichever two days of the week you prefer, as long as there is at least one non-fasting day in between them. On fasting days, up to 500 calories intake is permitted. #intermittentfasting #fasting

“It would be completely delusional to think that these people do not know that all these prayers and fasting do absolutely nothing for the country’s trajectory” - Osarogie on Pastor Adeboye’s 100 days fasting and praying declaration for Nigeria.

Sexual intercourse during the day of Ramaḍān vitiates fasting, and requires Qadā' (repayment) and Kaffārah (expiation) of 60 consecutive days of fasting. Forcing oneself to vomit vitiates fasting. Only repayment of the missed is required. Apostasy vitiates fasting. If the apostate returns to Islam within the same day or period, the fasting should be repaid.

Georges St-Pierre on fasting: “You can stay almost a month without eating, for most people.” He mentioned Angus Barbieri, who fasted for 382 days, lost a crazy amount of weight, and never gained it back. “If you don’t have a condition and your doctor says it’s okay, you’re not gonna die in only a few days of fasting.” Extended fasting triggers autophagy, where the body clears damaged cells and reduces inflammation, which can support recovery and metabolic health, as seen in studies on intermittent and prolonged fasting. A take from one of the greatest fighters ever.
