Students who set out to study LAW suddenly find their names on CRS, Islamic studies etc merit list. The Universities are ripping them off! They graduate from these courses and there’s nowhere they want to apply the knowledge either home or abroad. There are 1.8 million students in Nigerian universities!!! 1.8 students!!! What are they studying? Most of them become self-made WhatsApp business entrepreneurs or eventually go back to learn skills. So, 4years+x of their lives wasted gaining unnecessary knowledge all because the university wants to rip them off and their parents wants them to attend the university by “tipa tipa by fire” so they can brag. We don’t need MORE universities or university graduates, we need more vocational education institutions. The image of Odisha and other educational institutions should not be tarnished because of the misbehaviour of one institute.
