I know, it's just an example, but using "eos_vlans" is usually fundamentally wrong. Apart from some rare cases, use "eos_config" and "arista.avd".

item will return to anything in the loop, so in this case it will be your ansible_network_os.yml and if that doesn’t exist then it goes to unsupported.yml which is just a debug statement. It’s a programmatic way to avoid multiple conditionals.
