ANTHROPIC 🔥: Claude desktop app got a built-in web browser for Claude Code. This feature allows Claude to open and debug URLs directly inside the app. Browsers are now secondary, AI first 👀

Hasn’t Antigravity had this for a while already? Maybe I’m mistaken

@testingcatalog wild, can't believe we're already at AI-first browsing. curious how smooth debugging will be!

AI-first development is happening fast.

was this not already available in claude preview mcp?

A built-in browser inside Claude’s desktop app is a practical and overdue feature. Being able to open and debug URLs directly within the coding environment removes friction. This kind of integration makes AI coding tools feel more complete and closer to how developers actually work.

So...should I uninstall comet now?

finally don't have to alt-tab to see if that endpoint works

this is one less reason to keep switching tabs

Browsers aren't secondary. What's secondary now: the context switch. Stay in Claude while you're debugging. That's the whole gain.

Claude Code embedding a browser is a solid UX move—cuts the context-switching tax for debugging. Curious if they’ll expose headless rendering stats in the logs.

wait so now claude just… does the browsing for you we went from googling stuff to not even needing to open a tab thats wild

Great news

日本語での詳細解説はこちら Check out my Japanese breakdown:

Vale lembrar: o browser é só uma camada — o Claude prioriza connectors tipo Slack e Google Calendar, cai pro controle de browser quando não tem connector, e só assume o desktop direto quando nada disso serve.

This is the right direction for AI coding tools: the browser is not just where output is previewed; it is part of the debugging state. Agents get more useful when they can inspect, reproduce, and fix UI behavior in the same loop.

curious how it handles auth flows tho thats always where my agents fall apart, cookies and session state mid-debug

i've seen claude code debug pages fast, but login states still cause failures

AI just claimed the browser’s final frontier, and it happened quietly.

It's magic.😍

That’s what atlas retirement supports

the interesting part isn't the browser, it's the debugging loop. claude can now observe its own output in a real render environment and self-correct. that's a different category of capability than "AI with web access"

Claude Desktop kann jetzt Browser steuern. Selenium-Tools verlieren ihren Schutzgraben. Wer automatisiert noch manuell?

it finally seeing the rendered page is the part that matters, describing a screenshot back to it was always the bottleneck

operating systems are basically just becoming a background process for claude now

browsers are now secondary is a stretch for one debugging feature but the actual capability is solid

browser looking at this news like a horse seeing the first car bro bout to become 'legacy infrastructure' 💀

putting a browser directly inside the ai desktop app makes sense... tabbing back and forth to paste broken code was getting ridiculous 🥲
