The building of the A5 is a top priority for me as First Minister. Our Infrastructure Minister, Liz Kimmins, has launched an appeal against the recent judgment and will do everything possible to progress the project. Every phase of this project brings us closer to delivering a road that is safer, more durable, flood-resilient, and better suited to meet the needs of our growing community. Through regular site inspections, I remain committed to ensuring that every aspect of this project meets the highest standards of quality and is delivered within the approved timeline. Our goal is not just to build roads, but to build lasting infrastructure that improves the daily lives of our people. I sincerely appreciate the patience, understanding, and cooperation of our residents, business owners, and motorists throughout this period. The temporary inconvenience will soon give way to a modern road network that we can all be proud of. Together, we will continue to build a Lagos Island East that is safer, stronger, and more prosperous.

I saw this video on Instagram about a flyover which got opened a few days ago. When a new flyover is built to bypass towns, the local community should be provided with safe underpasses for pedestrians, road crossings etc. Otherwise, such risk-taking behavior will not stop. I’ve noticed similar behavior on the Mysuru Expressway as well—people are crossing the road to visit restaurants on the opposite side! Road Safety Guy
