We are currently averaging at 10 pots a day in the South, reduced from 30 pots a day due to lack of funds, donate here: The prices remain high and the stocks remain low. Here, we distributed 8 pots of zucchini stew in Basma camp in Nuseirat and 2 pots in Refaat Alareer camp in zawayde. Each pot cost $543 including 3% commission so the total cost was $5,430. Walking barefoot in high temperatures causes burns and infections in children’s feet. Shoes distributions are an important part of the Sameer Project initiatives, donate: Small steps (Small Steps Project) funded shoe distributions in the past and we recently collaborated on a new distribution. We got 60 pairs trainers for $21 a pair with 10% commission so the total was $1,260. The Sameer Project distributed these shoes to children in the Sadaqa camp (translates to friendship) in Deir El Balah. We are looking to do more shoe distributions during this tough time. Support: Each meal weighs 800 grams and costs $9.15 with 10% commission. On that day 1,000 meals of rice were distributed but for Yarmouk Camp alone the total cost was $4,850. Next week our main focus will be rice meals in the South as vegetables in Gaza are decreasing due to the end of season. Support us: Due to lack of funds, we stopped distributing pots in the North and are sticking to 10 pots of lentils in the South. Each pot costs $370 so the total is $3,700. If we want to do vegetable pots the cost is $645 so it would cost $6,450 but we can’t afford that right now. These prices are at a commission of 3% but there is also 7% that we pay to our fiscal host (Social Change Nest). So the full amount for lentil pots is $395 and vegetable pot is $692. As long as borders are closed, the prices of food will remain incredibly high and without more donations, we will have to be limited to rice and lentil distributions. We are about to run out of money from the Eid boost and our campaigns, and if we don’t raise more money soon, we will have to significantly lower the amount of food we are distributing. 8 pots of courgette and rice were distributed in the Bader camp in Deir El Balah and 2 in Refaat Alareer camp in Zawayde. Each of the pots cost $542 including the 3% commission so the total is $5,420. On the same day, 20 pots of vegetable soup were split between Bir 19 and Attar areas in Khan Younis. The vegetable soup included courgette, eggplant, sweet potato, rice and burgul. Each of the pots cost $579 including 19% commission. So the total for those was $11,580. Total for the day for food alone and in the South only was $17,000. We need your help: Our heart breaks with our inboxes flooded with similar situations to this women. Palestinians in Gaza noticed the reduction in water distributions, community kitchens & distributions. Our bread distributions stopped both in the North and the South. This video is one of our last bread distributions but now we can no longer find high quality flour in the markets. This means the plate of rice that was $10.4 for 22.5% commission is now $11.35 for 35%. Price increases won’t stop us and we’ll continue to negotiate and find the best prices in the market. Doctors, nurses, civil servants, teachers are all fainting and getting dizzy due to malnutrition. Borders NEED to open as people are dieing from malnutrition everyday. Yesterday our team visited a camp called Atshana (translates to thirsty) and is located right next to the Sowerky cemetery in Deir El Balah. The camp is in bad condition and don’t get aid or support, donate: The Sameer Project team distributed 147 packages with 1.5 kilos of eggplants in each bag. The cost for each bag is $29.25 so the whole distribution cost around $4,300. One meal of eggplants alone for a family costs around $30 and these vegetables are sourced from farms running under big risks. These prices don’t include cooking oil, sauces or spices. Donate: This rice distribution was done in Asqalan camp in Western Deir El Balah. 320 meals of rice weighing 800 grams each were given out. The cost per plate is around $18.3 with 10% commission so the total is $5,966. This rice is sourced from traders inside of Gaza who get them from aid trucks lootings, intense fights over air drops or the deadly Gaza Humanitarian Foundation distributions. Lives were lost and risked for many of the items sold in the markets in Gaza today. In May, we were getting around $35,000 a day allowing us to do food, water, medical and more! Sadly over the last two weeks, the daily average across our campaigns is around $20,000, donate now: This resulted in stopping pot distributions in the North completely and reducing the 20 pots to 10 pots in the South. The last time we did 20 pots in one day in the South was on the 11th of June. They were distributed in Attar and Maslakh areas in Mawasi Khan Younis. Each pot cost $555 with 3% commission so the total was $11,100. Nowadays, the pot of lentils costs us around $380 with 10% commission. So 10 pots cost us $3,800 aside from our daily rice distributions that cost $2,057 for 250 meals. On the 28th of July we distributed 8,000 liters to Nakhil camp in Zawayde and 8,000 liters to Asqalan camp in Western Deir El Balah. Water distributions in Central Gaza continue by the Sameer Project, donate: Water trucks go around and water is typically sold in Gaza.
