Each meal cost $17.85 with 10% commission so total of $2,678. Each meal of rice weighs 800 grams so it’s enough for 2-3 people. With the ongoing imposed famine by the military occupation, a few bites of food, and especially carbs, is very difficult to obtain. In May, we were getting around $35,000 a day allowing us to do food, water, medical and more! Sadly over the last two weeks, the daily average across our campaigns is around $20,000, donate now: This resulted in stopping pot distributions in the North completely and reducing the 20 pots to 10 pots in the South. The last time we did 20 pots in one day in the South was on the 11th of June. They were distributed in Attar and Maslakh areas in Mawasi Khan Younis. Each pot cost $555 with 3% commission so the total was $11,100. Nowadays, the pot of lentils costs us around $380 with 10% commission. So 10 pots cost us $3,800 aside from our daily rice distributions that cost $2,057 for 250 meals. Aside from rice distributions we continue with our pot distributions. Each day the amount and type of stew varies according to availability. Donate here: A few weeks ago, we got vegetables from farms but the supply was way lower than the demand, and now vegetable stews are not easy to find. Most available stews are lentils, pasta, bulgur and rice. We work closely with kitchens to ensure that the food uses oil, spices and sufficient quantities. This distribution included 15 pots of spaghetti each costing $402. With 3% commission, the total was $6,211. We got the good news that some trucks belonging to the World Kitchen entered through the Zikim crossing, making it safely to warehouses in preparation for distributions. But with 2 million hungry people in Gaza, this is not enough. Our teams continue to provide big batch pots to help feed those in dire need, suffering from this manmade famine.
