San Francisco 49ers OL coach Chris Foerster - Wide Zone (Strong) - Front side emphasis = Attacking on an angle, prioritize the LOS - Back side emphasis = Cutting the defense in half, prioritize the 2nd level Front Side Tackle Rules (Uncovered) - Climb = Technique used where the uncovered PST can't Overtake/Snap Out the DL from the covered TE. - Snap Out = Technique used when the PST can't overtake the edge defender. Creates/defines the read for the back. Snap Out defender on the covered TE - Overtake = Inside OL takes over the covered TE defender. - BSG technique based on second level targeting - RB must stay disciplined & press the landmark (inside leg of the PST)

I'll focus primarily on Marble Zone. The level is made of mostly of basic jumps, simple blocky design, slow block pushing and waiting for it to bring you somewhere. It does nothing special with the movement and makes it barely different from a Mario game with ice physics.

O-Line Uncovered Step Drill - The uncovered step is a technique used by offensive linemen that is essentially based on the traditional bucket step. - This specific footwork is a fundamental component used to successfully execute double-team blocks. - While the covered offensive lineman takes a two-step approach, the uncovered lineman must execute a short bucket step followed by a second step aimed directly up the defender's crotch. - During the execution of the block, linemen are coached to keep their eyes on the defender's thigh to read their movement. - When working a double team to the second level, linemen should drive the defensive lineman toward the linebacker and only disengage to climb when the linebacker is within an arm's length. - Coaches should emphasize a heavy second step to generate movement and maintain a low pad level to effectively drive defenders off the line of scrimmage. A key task is off the ball movement - players must time their run to receive in the central channel (which defenders cannot enter) to progress to the final third. Coaching points: · Positioning to receive: ideally on the half turn. · Movement off the ball: looking for space and angles to receive. · Decision-making: timing of runs and the pass. · Technique – weight of pass; also angle. · Creativity: core moves, especially blind side runs, diagonal run/straight ball and vice versa.
