San Francisco 49ers OL coach Chris Foerster - Wide Zone (Strong) - Front side emphasis = Attacking on an angle, prioritize the LOS - Back side emphasis = Cutting the defense in half, prioritize the 2nd level Front Side Tackle Rules (Uncovered) - Climb = Technique used where the uncovered PST can't Overtake/Snap Out the DL from the covered TE. - Snap Out = Technique used when the PST can't overtake the edge defender. Creates/defines the read for the back. I'll focus primarily on Marble Zone. The level is made of mostly of basic jumps, simple blocky design, slow block pushing and waiting for it to bring you somewhere. It does nothing special with the movement and makes it barely different from a Mario game with ice physics.

Toledo OL Coach Mike Hallett - Indy Med Ball Stacks Drill - "I had to figure out a way (to simulate movement). Our guys when I got here and the defenses started moving, they were so locked into... it's a 4-2 box, it's man cage B. We started seeing a lot of different gap exchanges." - "Not necessarily to simulate odd defenses, it's just to take structure out of it, so that guys get their eyes right and they take their responsibilities." - Simulate zone schemes. A key task is off the ball movement - players must time their run to receive in the central channel (which defenders cannot enter) to progress to the final third. Coaching points: · Positioning to receive: ideally on the half turn. · Movement off the ball: looking for space and angles to receive. · Decision-making: timing of runs and the pass. · Technique – weight of pass; also angle. · Creativity: core moves, especially blind side runs, diagonal run/straight ball and vice versa. We Gallop 3 techniques but never 2i's. - When = Front side of gap schemes, back side of zone. - Awareness = Understand leverage of LB we are working to. Is the 3 tech tight or loose? Steps - 1st step must gain ground at angle. - 2nd step is gather step. Must get it down before I get to the hip. - 3rd step has to be in the ground before contact.
